Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane, makes a splash with the effervescent musical comedy SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, opening November 30 and running through January 13, 2013. SINGIN' IN THE RAIN features one of the largest all-star casts ever assembled on the Drury Lane stage, led by Tony Yazbeck. Yazbeck's Broadway creditsinclude starring as "Billy Flynn" in the long running revival of CHICAGO, "Phil Davis" in Irving Berlin's White Christmas, "Tulsa" in the recent revival of Gypsy starring Patti LuPone (for which he earned an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination), "Al" in A Chorus Line, Never Gonna Dance, Oklahoma! and Gypsy with Tyne Daly. His Off-Broadway credits include the City Center Encores! productions of On The Town, Gypsy, The Apple Tree, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and Pardon My English, as well as the York Theatre production of Fanny Hill.
Fine Lines: American Drawings from the Brooklyn Museum presents a selection of more than a hundred rarely seen drawings and sketchbooks produced between 1768 and 1945 from the Brooklyn Museum's exceptional collection. The exhibition will feature the work of more than seventy artists, including John Singleton Copley, Stuart Davis, Thomas Eakins, William Glackens, Marsden Hartley, Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, Eastman Johnson, Georgia O'Keeffe, John Singer Sargent, and Benjamin West. Among the works on display will be Gaston Lachaise's Back of a Nude Woman (1929), Winslow Homer's Two Girls in Field (1871), and William Merritt Chase's Shinnecock Hills (circa 1895). Investigating the place of drawing within the broader history of American art before 1945, Fine Lines showcases a variety of subjects, styles, and practices and demonstrates the variety and vitality of the graphic arts in America across nearly two centuries.
Ben Johnson, Director of Northrop Concerts and Lectures at the University of Minnesota, announces his departure effective January 1, 2013 to accept a new position in Los Angeles as the Director of Programs for the United States Artists Foundation. In this position, Johnson will administer the prestigious USA Fellows program, which awards major $50,000 grants annually to 50 artists who work in film, theater, dance, music, design, visual arts, literature, and American craft. He will be directly engaged with USA Projects, which is an online micro-philanthropy platform for artists to raise funds for the creation of new projects.

Giving voice to artists working within the mediums of performance art, burlesque and experimental movement theater, DNA warmlywelcomes back Jaamil Olawale Kosoko, this time in his two-night New York City curatorial debut, other.explicit.bodies. Kosoko will perform a solo during the first night's performance. The show and its platform of otherness and eroticism are a direct extension of Kosoko's solo work other.explicit.body., which premiered at Harlem Stage E-moves in April 2012. Performances of other.explicit.bodies. are January 11 and 12. All shows are at 10 p.m.

They were able to choose from over 60 workshops delivered by skilled theatre professionals, meet more than 40 exhibitors in the bustling marketplace and visit the 'Ask the Experts' zone which offers one-to-one advice sessions with industry experts.

On New Year's Eve, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres (CDT) will present a debut staging of THE BEATLES - A TRIBUTE CONCERT. This anthology of The Beatles' most popular hits dating from 1963 to 1970 will be performed by Jonny James and the Hall of Fames, a local band featuring the talents of such performers as Jonny James, Mike Menard, Andrew Thornbrough, Matt Riehle, and guesting in will be, Mike McDonough of the 'Rubber Soul' Beatles Tribute band. This concert performance will be celebrated on Chanhassen's Fireside stage for one performance only on Monday evening, December 31.
