Red Bull Theater's OBIE Award-Winning ongoing REVELATION READINGS series presents staged readings of new plays and rarely-performed classic texts. Next up for the series is Patrick Page's SWANSONG, described as a moving tale of a dramatic friendship based on true events between peers Ben Jonson and Shakespeare.

On Thursday, December 6, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will welcome everyone to the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony. One lucky child from the audience will be chosen to flip the switch and illuminate the 40-foot-tall Christmas tree in Brooklyn Borough Hall Plaza-which Time Out New York has hailed as one of the City's trees "worth seeking out on a cold winter's night."

When the curtain rises on Franklin Performing Arts Company's presentation of Humbug!, several local families will share the stage. Humbug! is FPAC's contemporary retelling of the Charles Dickens holiday classic, A Christmas Carol.

ABBAmania is rated the number one Abba tribute production in the world highlighted by authentic costumes, made by the seamstress from the hit Broadway musical, Mamma Mia, and incredible vocals by cast members Toby Boyle, Danny Gluckstein, Carly Broome and Katrina Wallis. The vocalists are accompanied by a live onstage band and the show features twenty-two Abba songs in its two-set show with costume changes, choreography, comedy and a great concert sound.

After over three years and seventy-five headline shows, Octavarius will close their run with an epic trilogy of "Lord of the Rings" themed holiday comedy shows. Octavarius, the first independent company to host an open-ended run at the 130-seat ComedySportz Theatre (929 W. Belmont Ave.), will continue to perform their unique blend of improv, sketch and music through December 30th. Each Sunday at 7pm, the group with employ a different theme, ending in the three-show holiday spectacular.

Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist, Kurt Elling, brings a bit of New York City to Indy. Featuring music from his recently released recording, Elling highlights songs that came out of New York's Brill Building, famous for its three decades of musical tenants from Jimmy Van Huesen to Paul Simon. The show, which has received high critical acclaim for 'its beautifully crafted, razor-edged mix of bittersweet ballads, reconfigured doo-wop, and upgraded soul," includes such songs as "Come Fly with Me," "You Send Me," "On Broadway," "A House is Not a Home," and more.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the full company for Good People, the humor-filled Broadway hit about class, fate and economic hardship from Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole). Esteemed Canadian director Jackie Maxwell, now in her 11th season as Artistic Director of the Shaw Festival, makes her D.C. directorial debut and returns to direct in the United States after five years. Named Best Play by the New York Drama Critics' Circle during its Broadway run, Good People runs February 1-March 10, 2013 in the Kreeger Theater.

Night Fires, a celebration of the winter solstice, has been delighting and moving audiences for over thirty years with its blend of magic, mystery, marvelous music and soaring storytelling language. The students of the Warner Theatre Center for Arts Education will present the world premiere ofA Ghost Tale for Mr. Dickens December 7-9 in the Warner's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre. A Ghost Tale for Mr. Dickens is based on the beloved children's book, A Ghost Tale For Christmas Time, by bestselling local author Mary Pope Osborne! Jack and Annie are whisked back in time to Victorian England and the foggy streets of London where they discover that Charles Dickens is haunted by sad memories and has vowed never to write another book. Hartford Children's Theatre (HCT) announced today they will close and end all programming, including their children's theatre educational programs, at the end of December 2012. Hartford Stage simultaneously announced that it will expand its children's theatre drama education and outreach programs starting in January 2013.

On Friday, December 7 at 7:30 pm, the Warner Theatre will present the Vienna Boys' Choir Holiday Concert.

After three decades lighting up the stage, this week marks the final seven appearances of Renee Robinson, who will be leading all performances of Alvin Ailey's modern dance classic, Revelations, until she takes her final bow with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in a farewell program on Sunday, December 9th at 7:30pm.
