Three Cornish College of the Arts students have been chosen to participate in the 2013 Region 7 Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. Seniors Michael Feldman and Ben Wippel have been nominated for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Auditions for their work on The Mystery of Edwin Drood last spring, and Shades of Blue, a 10-minute play by junior Leila Jacobson was accepted for a staged reading in the festival.

For the 17th straight year, Great Music at St. Bart's will present organist William K. Trafka in an organ recital to usher in the New Year. The concert will take place on Monday, December 31 at 11 pm. Trafka, St. Bart's Organist and Director of Music since 1995, has performed this concert since New Year's Eve, 1996.

Sarah Brightman's highly anticipated 11th studio album "Dreamchaser" will now be released in North America in April 2013. This will coincide with the timing of her International album release plan that will run through Spring 2013. As a consequence, the North American tour dates will be moved to the fall of 2013.

The Music Institute of Chicago honors the extraordinary legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. at its ninth annual celebration of the legendary civil rights leader, featuring the renowned Brotherhood Chorale of the Apostolic Church of God. This year's program also will feature Music Institute of Chicago students who have received financial support through its William Warfield Memorial Scholarship Fund. This free concert takes place Sunday, January 20 at 5 p.m. at Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Avenue, Evanston.

Olney Theatre Center announces the second extension of its current production, Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella. The show, which opened on November 17, is now set to run through January 13, 2013. This extension features a number of family-friendly performance times. It has been extended due to the positive response it has garnered from audiences since its opening and the multitude of sold-out shows.

Composer/pianist Gregg Kallor will give a benefit concert on January 13, 2013, 7:30 p.m. at Culture Project Theater (45 Bleecker Street at Lafayette, New York City) to raise money for hurricane Sandy relief. Kallor, joined by guest musicians, will perform some of his latest music including "Short Stories" for violin and piano; the world premiere of Undercurrent, a new piece for cello and piano; and several pieces for piano, violin, cello, and clarinet. In addition, Kallor will perform excerpts from his nine-movement solo piano suite, "A Single Noon" - a musical tableau of life in New York City, told through composition and improvisation - that was premiered at Carnegie Hall in 2011.

Dodge foundation in honor of the retirement of the Foundation's longtime trustee, Dr. Barbara Knowles Debs. The surprise presentation was made by Dodge Foundation president and CEO Christopher J. Daggett at the Opening Night of Sir Arthur Wing Pinero's Trelawny of the Wells - the final production of The Theatre's 50th Anniversary Season.
