Modeled after PBD's very popular Master Playwrights Series, the new series will kick off on with four concert performances of Camelot, the final Broadway musical from the legendary writing team of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe on January 11 (8pm), January 12 (2pm and 8pm), and January 13 (2pm).

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey and its artistic director, Bonnie J. Monte, have been awarded a $25,000 gift by The Geraldine R. Dodge foundation in honor of the retirement of the Foundation's longtime trustee, Dr. Barbara Knowles Debs. The surprise presentation was made by Dodge Foundation president and CEO Christopher J. Daggett at the Opening Night of Sir Arthur Wing Pinero's Trelawny of the Wells - the final production of The Theatre's 50th Anniversary Season.

Okada Productions in collaboration with Yuji Takematsu present Kikki & Grandpa & Baby, a new musical written and directed by Yutaka Okada beginning January 5th at the Chernuchin Theater (American Theater of Actors 314 W. 54th Street). Music is by Shizuka Iwabuchi and includes traditional Japanese songs. Lyrics are by Yutaka Okada with additional lyrics by Julie Holtzman and Kuni Mikami. Musical direction is by Kuni Mikami.

Everyman Theatre has announced the first cast that will perform on its brand new Fayette Street stage. Renowned actress Linda Thorson, well known for her role in the television series The Avengers and over 40 years of experience on the New York and London stage, will join Everyman Resident Company Members Clinton Brandhagen, Deborah Hazlett, Beth Hylton, Wil Love, Bruce Randolph Nelson, and Carl Schurr in the 2008 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play, August: Osage County.

The Guthrie Theater today announced complete casting for the remount of the Pillsbury House Theatre production Buzzer by Tracey Scott Wilson. Buzzer, co-commissioned by the Guthrie Theater and Pillsbury House Theatre, will be helmed by Tony-nominated director Marion McClinton and play the Dowling Studio from February 8-March 3, 2013. Buzzer was previously performed at Pillsbury House Theatre last fall.

This week, the New London Maritime Society launches its 2012 Annual Fund. In anticipation of 2013, the Society's 30th--Pearl--Anniversary, the Society selected an ambitions fundraising goal of $30,000. Last year's equally ambitious goal of $25,000 was, in fact, surpassed, with contributions totaling more than $27,000. The American Museum of Natural History celebrates its 34th annual Kwanzaa celebration with Kwanzaa 2012: First Fruits of the Harvest on Saturday, December 29, from noon to 5pm. The event celebrates the rich traditions of Kwanzaa and honors the holiday's seven guiding principles. The festival will include a special interview about Karamu (African Feast) with pioneering restaurateur B. Smith, family-friendly hands-on activities, and an international marketplace. Restoration Dance Theatre Company and Balance Dance Theatre, led by acclaimed choreographer Obediah Wright, will perform in an exciting program that also includes Soul Steps and Underground System Afrobeat.
