Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC) opens 2013 with Winnie the Pooh, the third of its Professional 2012-2013 61stSeason, based on the book by A.A. Milne. Directed by Jerry Whiddon, director of the Helen Hayes Award Recipient for Outstanding Production, Theatre for Young Audiences' If You Give a Pig a Pancake, and adapted by Clanché du Rand, Winnie The Pooh will feature Washington, D.C. area favorites including James Gardiner and Todd Scofield in their ATMTC debut and Joshua Morgan, Artistic Director of No Rules Theatre Co. ATMTC will also continue its introduction of youth actors to the professional stage with Holden Brettell as Christopher Robin. This show is recommended for all ages. American Theater Company announces the world premiere of the revised version of columbinus, written by Stephen Karam and PJ Paparelli, with dramaturgy by Patricia Hersch, and conceived and directed by Artistic Director PJ Paparelli. The 2013 production will premiere material devised from recent interviews with survivors of the Columbine High School Shootings, families of victims and residents of Littleton, Colorado. The new material includes never-before-released information on the shooters and their families and first-hand accounts of both the Columbine and Aurora shootings. columbinus will run February 1 - March 10, 2013, at American Theater Company, 1909 W Byron St, Chicago, IL. Press opening is Wednesday, February 6, at 7:00 pm.

The Broadway League announced today the shows participating in the 2013 KIDS' NIGHT ON BROADWAY, which will take place Monday, February 25, 2013 to Sunday, March 3, 2013. The Ensemble Studio Theatre/Alfred P. Sloan Project for New Plays on Science and Technology will present the world premiere of Isaac's Eye by Lucas Hnath, the Ensemble Studio Theatre's Artistic Director William Carden announced. Directed by Linsay Firman, the Ensemble Studio Theatre/Sloan Project Associate Director, Isaac's Eye is the tale of an emotionally immature, 25-year-old Isaac Newton, his drive to become a fellow of The Royal Society and the great scientist Robert Hooke who, in Mr. Hnath's play, is the nemesis standing in his way.

The Pearl Theatre Company will continue its 29th season-and its first season in its new, permanent home on West 42nd Street-with the New York premiere of James DeVita's In Acting Shakespeare. In this adaptation of Sir Ian McKellen's 1987 one-man show, DeVita expertly weaves his personal journey from the fishing boats of Long Island to a theatrical career with details from Shakespeare's life and poetry. In Acting Shakespeare is a comedic and heartfelt tribute to the transformational power of theater.

5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche, the explosive Off-Broadway play, has announced today that it will play a weekend of performances once a month at The SoHo Playhouse Mainstage (15 Vandam Street, NYC). Previously scheduled to play weekly performances through Sunday, January 6th, effective immediately the production is now playing four performances during the second weekend of each month beginning January 11, 2013. This monthly cycle will continue on the weekends of February 8th and March 8th. A closing date has not been announced.

Hennepin Theatre Trust today announced the new fall 2012 honorees from Minnesota high schools recognizing theatre accomplishments by school and category for the 2012-13 SpotLight Musical Theatre Program. Now in its eighth successful year, SpotLight is Hennepin Theatre Trust's flagship educational initiative which honors, supports and advocates for Minnesota high school musical theatre students and programs. This year, 56 schools, including nine from greater Minnesota, are presenting musicals made possible by the collaboration of almost 5,000 students and annually seen by an estimated 105,000 audience members.

Due to popular demand, Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced a second extension of its critically-acclaimed World Premiere of THE GREAT GOD PAN, a new play by the heralded Obie Award-winning playwright Amy Herzog (After the Revolution at PH, 4000 Miles). Originally set to play a limited engagement through Sunday, December 30, the production originally extended to Sunday, January 6 and now extends to Sunday, January 13 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street). This additional week represents the final extension possible for the production and includes a special Wednesday matinee on January 9 at 2:30 PM.
