The DiMenna Children's History Museum at the New-York Historical Society is pleased to offer a large and diverse selection of activities for the whole family in February 2013 designed to make history come alive. This exciting series of programs take place at the DiMenna Children's History Museum-the first-ever children's museum bringing American history to life through the lives and times of children of the past.

On Saturday February 9th, indie band Sky-Pony will present LOVE FOR SALE: a boudoir-themed concert experience in honor of Valentine's Day, featuring songs about sex, love and everything in between. Sky-Pony is known for shows that blur the line between rock concert, party, and theater event. This is their latest confection.

Sometimes we, as human beings, are so trapped between the hurt from our past and the utterly overwhelming nature of how to move forward into our future that we are frozen, locked in place, unable to see a way out of the dark, unable to connect with those we love most. Kathleen Tolan's Memory House captures that moment in time, that frozen moment for mother and daughter Maggie and Katia. It's heartbreaking, real, and even funny in its portrayal of this relationship. Main Street Theater's production is the regional premiere of Memory House.

Britain's iconic singer LULU will make her NYC concert debut with a February 16th performance at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill, backed by an All-Star Band, featuring Will Lee, Jimmy Vivino and Rich Pagano from The Fab Faux, plus Paul Shaffer.

"An Evening with Anna Deavere Smith" features a selection of poignant, hilarious and heart-wrenching pieces from Smith's award-winning, one-woman shows. The theatrical tour-de-force begins at 7:30 p.m.

Later this month on Thursday, January 24, Broadway's Palace Theatre will be visited by thousands of NYC public school students as the Great White Way's leading arts education not-for-profit Inside Broadway partners with the Broadway revival of Annie to offer two exclusive ‘Creating the Magic' events. Taking place at 10:45am and 1:15pm, the programs are being presented for free to over 2,500 New York City public school students as they get a behind the scenes look at the magical world of Broadway and learn about all the career opportunities in the theater.

The World Famous Platters Revue will perform the greatest hits of The Platters, who had 40 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 in the 1950's and 1960's, at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane, on Monday, February 4 at 1:30 p.m. and Tuesday, February 5 at 1:30 p.m. The World Famous Platters Revue pays tribute to one of the world's most successful vocal groups since the introduction of the classic "Doo-Wop" sound of the 1950's.
