In celebration of their 25th anniversary, the nation's largest and most fascinating antique store, Architectural Artifacts, Inc., 4325 N. Ravenswood Ave, is staging a 1,500 plus-lot, three-day auction on Friday, April 5, Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7, beginning at 10 a.m. The one-of-a-kind items have been carefully selected from over 10,000 elegant and intriguing treasures in the gallery. The three-day auction extravaganza will include items from carved fireplaces to antique saloon bars to vintage chandeliers to fun, frivolous and funky items, ranging in price from $5 to $100,000. The festive event will also include entertainment, a variety of food and wine.

The Detroit return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Friday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Detroit Opera House for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, March 10. In Detroit, THE LION KING will play Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m., Saturday matinees at 2:00 p.m., Sunday evenings at 6:30 p.m., Sunday matinees at 1:00 p.m.

The spring 2013 exhibition organized by The Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art will be PUNK: Chaos to Couture. The exhibition, on view from May 9 through August 14, 2013 (preceded on May 6 by The Costume Institute Benefit), will examine punk's impact on high fashion from the movement's birth in the 1970s through its continuing influence today.

During March and April the Brooklyn Museum will present a wide variety of public programs for adults, teens, and kids, including performances by jazz vocalist Antoinette Montague and the Brooklyn-based indie composers Charly & Margaux, conversations with artist Marela Zacarias and John Singer Sargent's great-nephew Richard Ormond, a panel discussion about women artists and the body, a collections course on Sargent's watercolors, and a variety of art-making classes and workshops.

"We've held the Awards in San Francisco for years, and the East Bay is past due," said Theatre Critics Circle President Barry Willis. "Award Galas can get tedious, so Vice President Linda Ayres-Frederick came up with the idea of a dance party," Willis said. "If you draw a line from north to south and east to west through the nine Bay Area counties we serve, the nexus falls in Oakland. And we found this true gem of a venue called the California Ballroom in the safe and accessible downtown business district of Oakland a half block from 19th St. BART with lots of street parking around, so everything fell into place!" Willis commented.

From Thursday, February 21-Saturday, February 23, college students will be performing on both stages at ImprovBoston for the annual College Comedy Fest and Beanpot Tournament. The Golden Dragon Acrobats hail from Cangzhou, Hebei province, in the People's Republic of China and have toured the United States continuously since 1978. Its members are athletes, actors and artists who have studied and trained for their craft since early childhood. The group averages 200 performances each year and has toured through all 50 states and in over 65 countries across the world. In 2005, their Broadway debut and seven-week run at the New Victory Theater earned two prestigious New York Drama Desk Awards nominations (for Best Choreography and Most Unique Theatrical Experience).

The work of Tom Christopher and Michael Mapes will be on exhibit March 7 through March 30 at The Schoolhouse, in conjunction with the stage production of Jon Robin Baitz' 'Ten Unknowns,' an explosive drama centered on an artist who rages against the commercialization of art.
