The Midtown International Theatre Festival presents Multiple Plotchanalities, described as one woman's comedic and poignant journey into adulthood. Leslie Collins directs comedienne Dina Plotch in her own unique biographical comedy. Multiple Plotchanalities will run at the Dorothy Strelsin Theatre, 312 West 36th Street, 1st Floor, in New York City for six performances, July 18-August 3, 2012.

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that two students in the SpotLight Musical Theatre Program, Emily Nies from White Bear Lake High School and Daniel Piering from Wayzata High School, were selected to represent Minnesota at the National High School Musical Theatre "Jimmy" Awards to be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2012 at the Minskoff Theatre in New York City.

Tribeca Film Acquires US Rights to WAR WITCH

Tribeca Film announced today that it has acquired U.S. rights to Kim Nguyen's award winning War Witch (Rebelle), a powerfully poignant film shot in the Congo with an exceptional lead performance by Rachel Mwanza, a newcomer who was discovered on the streets of Kinshasa. In her very first acting role, Mwanza has already garnered critical acclaim for her astounding performance winning the Silver Bear- Best actress award at the Berlin Film Festival, where the film made its world premiere in competition, as well as the Best Actress in a Narrative Feature Film Award at the Tribeca Film Festival. The film took home the "Founders Award" for best narrative feature at Tribeca, where it made its North American premiere.

The hit TV show Smash, the Broadway production of Newsies, Cirque du Soleil, The Radio Christmas Spectacular and the upcoming Broadway productions of Matilda and Flashdance are set to take part in the upcoming New York City Dance Alliance National Season Finale which will host 1,500 student dancers from across the United States (ages 7-18). Between July 1st and July 5th they will all offer audition workshops during the event for participants. The workshops will be led by Tony Award-winning Newsies Choreographer Christopher Gatelli, Smash Choreographer Josh Bergasse, Matilda Casting Director Nora Brennan, Flashdance Choreographer Sergio Trujillo, Cirque du Soleil Dance Casting Director Nicole Lamontagne and Radio City Christmas Spectacular Casting Coordinators Michelle Kashinsky and Beth Zitzman.
