Jessica has worked in theater for nearly ten years. She has worked in theatrical production for the producers of STOMP, DAMN YANKEES, NUNSENSE, DINNER WITH FRIENDS and more, and for over 5 years has been involved in the Whoopi Goldberg-produced White Noise, having discovered the production at the 2006 New York Musical Theatre Festival. She has since helped foster its growth through multiple large-scale workshops and two major commercial productions as an Associate Producer. After dedicating many years to theatrical and live entertainment production work that has taken her all over the world in 2009 she assumed the post of Senior Managing Editor at BroadwayWorld.com, the largest theater site on the net, for which she controls operations, routinely interviews Broadway's A-list talent and films/edits a bulk of the sites popular BWW TV content. She is a graduate of Brown University and has worked professionally in production for the Brown University Department of Theatre, Speech and Dance, Rights and Reasons Theatre, the New York Theatre Workshop and more.

COMEDY CENTRAL has secured one of Hollywood's most notorious bad boys. The network announced today that Charlie Sheen will be the next Roastee. The 'COMEDY CENTRAL Roast Of Charlie Sheen' (#SheenRoast) will tape in Los Angeles on Saturday, September 10. The Roast will premiere on COMEDY CENTRAL on Monday, September 19 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Somewhere, a new play by Old Globe Playwright-in-Residence Matthew Lopez. Lopez's play The Whipping Man was a critical success in New York last season after receiving its West Coast Premiere at the Globe in a production directed by Giovanna Sardelli. Sardelli returns to direct Somewhere, which will run in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, Sept. 24 - Oct. 30. Preview performances run Sept. 24 - Sept. 28. Opening night is Thursday, Sept. 29 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are currently available by subscription only. Single tickets will go on sale on Sunday, Sept. 4. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Image Entertainment, Inc. has acquired the home entertainment and digital rights to Bette Midler: THE SHOWGIRL MUST GO ON, the legendary star's triumphant return to Las Vegas. The $10 million extravaganza played over 100 performances in a two-year run at the famed Colosseum at Caesars Palace. According to Amazon.com, the DVD will be released on October 4, 2011 and will be sold for $15.99. Amazon is now taking pre-orders.

Tony Award winner Idina Menzel will take the stage in Kansas City at the Kauffman Center on November 12, 2011. Tickets are now on sale HERE, ranging from $49.50 - $95.00. As previously reported by BWW, Menzel had to cancel several of her November concert engagements to accommodate her GLEE filming schedule. Menzel was given a 12 episode arc in the upcoming third season of the show and will be filming throughout the fall. Primary Stages will present the New York premiere of Motherhood Out Loud, conceived by Susan R. Rose and Joan Stein. Despite releasing a statement earlier indicating at the TKTS operation in Times Square would remain open this weekend, the organization has just announced via twitter that they will indeed be closing down at all locations (South Street Seaport and Brooklyn included) tomorrow and Sunday along with all Broadway productions in response to Hurricane Irene.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has just announced that mass rail transit in and out of New York City will shut down beginning at 12:00pm tomorrow. This includes the New York City subway system, and commuter rail lines that service Westchester, Long Island and Connecticut. If wind intensity does exceed 60mph, all major bridges, including the George Washington Bridge leading into northern New Jersey will be closed, as well.

Beginning performances on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, Jackie Burns and Chandra Lee Schwartz will assume the roles of Elphaba and Glinda, respectively, in the Broadway cast of Wicked. Ms. Burns and Ms. Schwartz come to Broadway directly from Wicked's First National Tour. The Broadway company currently features Richard H. Blake as Fiyero, Kathy Fitzgerald as Madame Morrible, Tom McGowan as The Wizard, Etai BenShlomo as Boq, Cristy Candler as Nessarose, and Tom Flynn as Dr. Dillamond.

Direct from the North American tour of MARY POPPINS, Steffanie Leigh will make her Broadway debut in the title role, beginning performances at the New Amsterdam Theatre Tuesday, October 11. Olivier Award winner Laura Michelle Kelly, The West End's original MARY POPPINS, will play her final performance on Broadway Sunday, October 9.

Deadline.com reports this morning that filming for Woverine 2, the sequel to the successful X Men franchise starring Hugh Jackman, may be pushed back to the spring of 2012 due to location scouting issues. The film had been tentatively scheduled to film in Japan this fall, however weather conditions have made securing locations difficult. The operation may now move to Canada instead.

As BroadwayWorld reported back in April, Seattle's Intiman Theatre closed its doors after suffering crippling financial problems. The theatre, which had been $2.3 million in debt last year, had raised approximately $800,000 over the winter and was attempting to raise an additional $1 million by this September, in two installments. After failing to meet springtime fundraising goals, the theater shuttered, laying off its staff. Just prior, Artistic Director Kate Whorisky parted ways with the Intiman.

Primary Stages launched its 27th season last week, August 16, with the World Premiere of a work commissioned by the company, the new comedy, Olive and the Bitter Herbs by Charles Busch directed by Mark Brokaw.The five-me mber cast features Dan Butler as Trey, David Garrison as Robert, Julie Halston as Wendy, Marcia Jean Kurtz as Olive and Richard Masur as Sylvan. Performances run through Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced that Matt McGrath will appear in the role of Frank ‘N' Furter in The Old Globe's upcoming production of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show. McGrath appeared on Broadway as the Emcee in Sam Mendes' hit revival of Cabaret and in the international tour of Tom Waits and William S. Burroughs' The Black Rider: The Casting of the Magic Bullets directed by Robert Wilson. He has also appeared Off Broadway in Hedwig and the Angry Itch and A Fair Country at Lincoln Center Theater. McGrath replaces the previously announced James Barbour, who has departed the production.
