The new musical Peter & I opens tonight, October 6 at the Chernuchin Theater at the American Theater of Actors as part of The Araca Project, a new program created by The Araca Group to support emerging theatre artists. The production will run through October 16, 2011.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced Cheyenne Jackson (Xanadu), Tony Award winner Jane Krakowski (Nine), three-time Tony nominee Kelli O'Hara (The Pajama Game), Josh Radnor ('How I Met Your Mother'), Tony nominee Michael McGrath (Memphis), Tony nominee Rory O'Malley (The Book of Mormon) and four-time Tony nominee Victor Garber (Present Laughter) leading an all-star cast in a one-night only performance of SHE LOVES ME. The romantic musical comedy features a book by Joe Masteroff (Cabaret), music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick (Fiddler on the Roof).

Jeremy Irvine, who will soon be seen on the big screen in Steven Speilberg's War Horse, will lead a new film adaptation of Charles Dicken's Great Expectations, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He will join a cast that includes Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Carter, Sally Hawkins (Mrs. Warren's Profession on Broadway), Robbie Coltrane, Ewen Bremner, Jason Flemyng, Tamzin Outhwaite, David Walliams and Holliday Grainger. Filming will begin in the UK on October 10.

The first box office numbers are in and, according to the UK Film Council, The Phantom of the Opera screenings took in £550,955 over the weekend alone. Final tallies for the addition screenings should be in by the end of the week.

EW.com exclusively reports today that Marissa Tomei, Martin Sheen and Blair Underwood will be the featured actors in the third season of the NBC reality show, Who Do You Think You Are?, premiering in early 2012. The series traces the lineage of some of the most famous faces today. Previews participants have included Gwyneth Paltrow, Kim Cattrall, Vanessa Williams and more.

Manhattan Theatre Club has announced that the world premiere of WE LIVE HERE, by Zoe Kazan, directed by Sam Gold is extending due to popular demand. Tickets for WE LIVE HERE are now on sale through Sunday, November 6. The production will open next Wednesday, October 12 at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I.

In a new interview with the LA Times out today, Audra McDonald addresses the 'perceived racism' in the upcoming Broadway transfer of Porgy & Bess that has haunted the show for some time. Noting the difference between artistic archetypes utilized in Porgy & Bess vs. stereotypes, McDonald is nothing short of a Porgy champion.

GLEE's Chris Colfer has Broadway dreams, too. Like his co-stars Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison and, now, Darren Criss, Colfer hopes to one day find himself performing live for audiences on the Great White Way. Only problem, he believes his dream role has yet to be written. During a sit down interview at the New Yorker Festival this weekend at the SVA Theater, Colfer implied that he, in fact, hopes to write his own role for the stage, stating that regarding his ideal part 'I haven't written them yet.'

BroadwayWorld has learned that Anything Goes star Joel sustained a minor fracture in his left foot while walking around New York City. His doctors expect him to make a full recovery in two weeks and he is expected to return to the production as soon as he is able. Robert Creighton will perform the role of 'Moonface Martin' until Joel's return.

Roundabout Theatre Company is presenting three-time Tony Award winner Frank Langella as 'Gregor Antonescu' in Terence Rattigan's drama Man and Boy, directed by Maria Aitken. Man and Boy began previews on September 9th and opens officially on October 9th, 2011 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway. This is a limited engagement through November 27, 2011. For two decades Friends In Deed has offered emotional and spiritual support for all those affected by life threatening illness, caregiving and grief. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Friends In Deed, Emmy Award winner Sarah Jessica Parker and Tony Award winner Matthew Broderick will host 'A Little Jurassic Treasure Hunt,' a once-in-a-lifetime event on Monday, October 3, 2011. At this special benefit event, guests will form teams to trace clues through the American Museum of Natural History in a specially devised hunt created by legendary composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim. Following a cocktail reception in The Museum's Hall of Mammals, the hunt will take place in the Hall of Saurischian Dinosaurs and the Hall of Ornithischian Dinosaurs before a dinner reception in the Rose Center for Earth and Space. The dinner reception will feature performances of Mr. Sondheim's songs by Tony Award winner Barbara Cook and Tony nominee Raul Esparza.

Lauren Molina and Geoff Packard have brought the Goodman Theatre's acclaimed production of CANDIDE, directed and newly adapted by Mary Zimmerman, to the Huntington Theatre.
