The first major revival of David Hirson's Olivier Award-winning comedy LA BÊTE starring Tony and Olivier Award winner Mark Rylance, Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce, and BAFTA Award winner (and star of 'Absolutely Fabulous') Joanna Lumley began previews at Broadway's Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street) on September 23, 2010. This new production, helmed by acclaimed director Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage, Boeing-Boeing, The Norman Conquests), opened on Broadway, October 14. This immediately follows a limited summer engagement at the Comedy Theatre in London's West End from June 26-September 4, 2010 with opening night of July 7. Laura Bell Bundy's major label debut album Achin' And Shakin' was released on April 13 on Mercury Nashville. The New York Times reports today that Robin Williams may be returning to the Great White Way in Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, an Iraq War play - a Pulitzer Prize finalist - written by Rajiv Joseph that last had a critically successful run in Los Angeles. The production could open as early as the Spring of 2011 assuming that a deal can be reached with Williams and producers Robyn Goodman and Kevin McCollum.

Madison Square Garden Entertainment (MSGE) and Cirque du Soleil announce the launch of the $1 Million Snow Day in celebration of the Cirque du Soleil family show, Wintuk. As BroadwayWorld reported this summer, the Tony Awards is in search of a new home for 2011 and beyond, now that their 13 year occupation of Radio City Music Hall in midtown is complete. (Radio City will be occupied with a Cirque du Soliel production during Tony time next year). While the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League, who present the Tonys, have not yet released an official statement on a specific move, published reports have suggested a likely option was the 3,400+ seat United Palace Theater in Washington Heights.

Stltoday.com reports that the New Line Theatre in St. Louis has secured the rights to the musical Cry-Baby, which had a short run on Broadway in 2008. The musical will takes it's regional debut bow in the Spring of 2010, according to the report.

In light of the recent attention on suicide amongst gay youth driven by bullies, Broadway veteren and American Idol pop star Adam Lambert is the latest celebrity to team up with the Trevor Project for the 'It Gets Better' campaign, encouraging gay or questioning youth to hold their heads high and seek help. As BroadwayWorld reported in June, Tony, Emmy, and Grammy-winner Cynthia Nixon ('Sex and the City,' RABBIT HOLE) has joined the cast of Showtime's 'The Big C' in a recurring role as Laura Linney's old school friend. 'The Big C' airs Mondays at 10:30pm EST.

Culture Project (Allan Buchman, Artistic Director) will present the world premiere of Imagining Heschel, a new play by Colin Greer, directed by Larry Moss, who was last represented Off-Broadway by his acclaimed production of Syringa Tree. The two-character play will feature actors Richard Dreyfuss and Rinde Eckert. Performances begin at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street, NYC) on Thursday, November 4th, 2010, and continue through Sunday, November 28th, 2010, for 20 performances only. An official opening night is set for Monday, November 8, 2010.

The Off-Broadway rock show POWER BALLADZ will end its run at the Midtown Theatre (163 West 46th Street) in New York following its performance on Saturday, October 23, it has been announced by the show's producers.
