Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere production of THE COLUMNIST by Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner David Auburn, directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan currently opened last night, April 25, at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. The production, which recently announced an extension, is scheduled to run though June 24, 2012. BroadwayWorld was inside the after party and takes you onto the red carpet with all of the stars below!

Over the Moon: The Broadway Lullaby Project is both a timeless benefit effort and a uniquely compelling multimedia experience. The project-which incorporates a 2-CD, 26-song set; a lavishly illustrated hardcover book of 17 songs from the album; a corresponding e-book encompassing the entire collection; and a documentary film and web series -gathers many of contemporary musical theatre's greatest composers and vocalists, as well as illustrators, all of whom have donated their talent to deliver an emotionally affecting set of new lullabies, some written specifically for this project. Proceeds from sales of the book and 2-CD set will benefit breast cancer research, support and education.

THE LYONS, which debuted last fall at the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning Vineyard Theatre, officially opened on April 23 at the Cort Theatre. Previews began on April 5. The supernatural power of love arrived on Broadway last night, April 24th, at the Opening Night of GHOST The Musical. Featuring an original score by rock legends Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard, and a book by the original Oscar-winning screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin, GHOST was directed by Tony and Olivier Award winner Matthew Warchus and starred Richard Fleeshman Sam Wheat, Caissie Levy Molly Jensen, Da'Vine Joy Randolph Oda Mae Brown and Bryce Pinkham Carl Bruner. JustJared.com has revealed an early look at Amanda Seyfried on the set of the Les Miserables film in London while on a break from shooting. Seyfried, who stars as Cosette in the film, is no stranger to movie musicals, having starred in the film version of Mamma Mia! alongside Meryl Streep. The film is set for a December 7, 2012 release.

The Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the world premiere production of Bad Jews by Joshua Elias Harmon and directed by Daniel Aukin for the fall season. Bad Jews will begin preview performances on October 5, 2012 and will open officially on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. This is a limited engagement through December 16, 2012.
