Andrew Lloyd Webber to Sell 4 West End Theatres to Michael GradeOctober 27, 2010The Stage reports exclusively today that Andrew Lloyd Webber is close to inking a deal with a group headed by Michael Grade, the former BBC and ITV chairman. According to the report: 'The Stage understands that a deal was agreed earlier this week- believed to be in the region of £50 million - for a consortium led by Grade and theatrical agent Michael Linnit to purchase the New London, Palace, Cambridge and Her Majesty's theatres in London....Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group will retain ownership of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, London Palladium and its 50% stake in the Adelphi Theatre, which is co-owned with US company Nederlander.'
Harry Connick Jr., Julie Andrews, Audra McDonald et al. Set for 2011 PBS Great Performance Series October 27, 2010PBS has announced that Broadway vets Harry Connick Jr., Julie Andrews and Audra McDonald will be among the performers who will be featured in the 2011 Great Performances Series. As a series centerpiece, the network will air Connick Jr.'s Live on Broadway Concert that ran and the Neil Simon Theatre this summer. The broadcast will run in the late winter/early spring of 2011. On New Year's Day, PBS will broadcast 'From Vienna: The New Year's Celebration' with Julie Andrews. Also in the winter, the series will feature Audra McDonald in concert at Carnegie Hall alongside Yo-Yo Ma, Gil Shaham and Emmanuel Ax.

The production runs from November 16 - December 19, 2010 on the Asolo Rep mainstage-The Mertz Theatre. The press opening is November 19, at 8 p.m.
