New Repertory Theatre, in residence at the Arsenal Center for the Arts, is thrilled to begin its 2010-2011 Season with David Mamet's clever, biting comedy Boston Marriage. Boston Marriage opens for the press on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 7:30pm and plays through Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the Arsenal Center for the Arts in the Charles Mosesian Theater.

The Cotuit Center for the Arts will hold open auditions for Dark of the Moon, to run October 7-24, 2010. Dark of the Moon is a drama with music set in the Blue Ridge Mountains, based on a variant of 'The Ballad of Barbara Allen', with witches, conjurers, and God-fearing folk. Director Mary Arnault will be casting roles for all ages. Singers, dancers and musicians encouraged. Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 14th from 2-4 PM and Sunday, August 15th from 2-4 PM. CPCC Opera Theatre is preparing to hold auditions for its fall production of 'Hansel and Gretel' on Thursday, August 19, in the Halton Theater (1206 Elizabeth Ave., Charlotte) from 6 - 8 p.m. An accompanist is provided, or individuals may bring their own. Transport Group (TG), the winner of a special 2007 Drama Desk Award and 2007 and 2010 OBIE Awards, has announced that Nicholas Belton will join its acclaimed New York premiere of See Rock City & Other Destinations, music by Brad Alexander; book and lyrics by Adam Mathias; directed by Artistic Director Jack Cummings III, for its extension, beginning Wednesday, August 11 through Saturday, August 14 at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street® project, 229 West 42nd Street. Mr. Belton will take over the roles played by Bryce Ryness.

SHINE! The Horatio Alger Musical with a Book by Richard Seff; Music by Roger Dean Anderson and Lyrics by Lee Goldsmith is being presented by Other Side Productions (Peter Mercurio, Chuck Blasius - Co-Artistic Directors) as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival at The Theater at St. Clements, 423 West 46th Street. The director is Peter Flynn and the choreographer is Devanand Janki. With a highly melodic, hummable and bouncy score with bright lyrics, "SHINE the Horatio Alger Musical", has tons of period atmosphere, nostalgic charm, comedy and entertainment. It is a hope and dreams musical with a touch of "Annie", a smidgen of "Oliver", a dash of "Tintypes" as well as a smattering of musical joys that will delight! A multi-talented cast of 18 makes this one of the largest of the festival productions. Performances will be: Thurs. 10/7 at 8pm; Sat. 10/9 at 5pm; Mon. 10/11, at 9pm; Fri. 10/15, at 1pm; Sat. 10/16, at 9pm and Sun. 10/17 at 3pm.

Students enrolled in Theatre West Virginia and Mountain State University's Professional Training Internship Program will train with award-winning casting director Arnold Mungioli. Through Mungioli's training, the student interns will experience a professional actor's master class and a mock "cattle call" audition. The showcase event wraps up a summer of intensive training for the interns led by Pamela Chabora, performance specialist and actor with Theatre West Virginia and a faculty member at Mountain State University.

1st Irish 2010, New York's only all-Irish theatre festival, runs from September 7 to October 4. Coordinated by the New York-based Origin Theatre Company, the month-long festival features a diverse range of plays by 16 mostly contemporary, living Irish playwrights, in prominent local venues like 59E59 Theaters (two productions), The Irish Repertory Theatre (two productions), The Mint, and PS 122 (two productions), among others.
