The San Diego Gay Men's Chorus (SDGMC) will present Ole! Ole! Ole!, kicking off the chorus' 2012 season on Saturday, April 14th at 8pm and Sunday, April 15th at 3pm at the historic Balboa Theatre in downtown San Diego. Following sold-out performances by gay men's choruses in Seattle, Houston and Minneapolis, the San Diego chorus production features show-stopping pop hits, classic cultural flair, and of course dance moves all set to a live eight-piece orchestra.

Chautauqua Theater Company (CTC) announces its 29th season as the resident theater on the grounds of the Chautauqua Institution -- western New York's summer arts festival. According to the New York Times, Tony Award winner Bill Sherman and Pulitzer Prize finalist Rajiv Joseph will collaborate on a new musical project entitled Fly, which will be a dark re-telling of Peter Pan and will premiere at Dallas Theater Center in summer 2013.

The Des Moines Community Playhouse initiates its new play reading series at 7:00 PM, Monday, Apr. 2. The script being presented is 'Becky's New Car' by Steven Dietz. The evening is free; beverages will be available for purchase.

NBC will launch NBC Kids, a new Saturday morning programming block designed specifically to address the developmental needs of preschool-aged children, premiering on Saturday, July 7. Programmed by the kids experts at Sprout, the nation's first 24-hour preschool television channel, this new three-hour block will feature educational series that promote active, healthy lifestyles for younger children.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic and Classical KUSC continue their annual radio broadcast partnership, which now reaches close to one million listeners. The 14 concerts, recorded during the LA Phil's 2011/12 season, feature the orchestra with an impressive roster of guest artists and conductors. 5th Avenue held its Spotlight Night for Damn Yankees on March 20. The evening took audiences behind the scenes of the new production of the musical comedy classic Damn Yankees. Featuring musical performances by some of Seattle's best singers and the cast of Damn Yankees, the event explored the stories that inspired the hit musical, including the legend of Faust. The night also took audiences through the careers of Damn Yankees book writer George Abbott and songwriters Richard Adler and Jerry Ross. Bang on a Can is celebrating 25 years during 2012, having grown from a one-day New York-based Marathon concert (on Mother's Day in 1987 in a SoHo art gallery) to a multi-faceted performing arts organization with a broad range of year-round international activities.

Fifteen local high school students from 10 different schools competed in the August Wilson Monologue Competition (AWMC) regional finals at the Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum, Monday night, March 26, 2012. The top three student performers received scholarships and the opportunity to compete again in New York City.
