"My Sinatra," a one-man musical created by and starring Cary Hoffman, opens on Sunday April 22, at 3pm, after a ten-month preview period. The Off-Broadway opening, at Sofia's Downstairs Theatre in Times Square, completes the show's evolution from therapy, to PBS concert special (2009), to cabaret act (Triad Theatre), to cabaret-musical revue (Midtown Theater), to one-man tuner.

Beginning Saturday, April 21st and running through the 29th, the Playhouse on Park dance company in residence presents 'Show Stoppers', a high-energy dance spectacular conceived, choreographed, and directed by founder, Darlene Zoller. Award-winning director Bart DeLorenzo returns to the Odyssey to direct an exuberant and burlesque-spirited version of Anton Chekhov's Ivanov, the story of a once idealistic man turned apathetic from a life going terribly, terribly wrong. DeLorenzo plans a fresh approach to this little-known classic -- no birch trees, samovars, or wicker furniture - in a riotous production that promises to be ridiculous, soulful, and sexy. The Warner Theatre (John Bonanni, Executive Director) by special arrangement with Theresa Wozunk will present the world premiere of LIBERTY A Monumental New Musical- with book and lyrics by Dana Leslie Goldstein and music by Jon Goldstein. Directed by Igor Goldin, performances of LIBERTY A Monumental New Musical begin June 30th, 2012 and continue through July 14th at the Warner Theatre in Torrington, Connecticut.

MetroStage presents Be Careful! The Sharks Will Eat You!, a one-man show written and performed by Jorge "Jay" Alvarez, who tells a story of bravery, selflessness, and unimaginable courage and survival: the story of his family's escape from the oppression of Fidel Castro's Cuba in 1964. Alvarez offers an autobiographical, multigenerational and cross-cultural performance.

The Trap Door Theatre announces that Artistic Director Beata Pilch has been selected for a prestigious Artist Residency at the Program Cite Internationale des Arts-Home of foreign artists in France. Pilch was the only person from the United States to be selected for this honor, as well as the only theatre artist. During her three month long residency in Paris, beginning in April, Pilch will network with French actors, playwrights and directors to seek out new productions to bring to Chicago.

The White Plains Performing Arts Center (WPPAC) Conservatory Theatre will present The Laramie Project on Friday, April 20 at 8:00pm* and Sunday April 22 at 2:00pm and The Laramie Project Ten Years Later: An Epilogue on Saturday April 21 at 8:00pm and Sunday April 22 at 6:00pm. Student performances with structured talk back sessions will be held as follows: Laramie Project on Friday April 20 at 10:00am* and the Epilogue on Monday April 23 at 10:00am.

Musical Chairs Chamber Ensemble, Inc. (MCCE) presents the third concert in its 2011-12 residency at The Staten Island Museum on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 8pm. The evening features works by MCCE's 2011-12 composer-in-residence Andrew Rosciszewski, MCCE's Composer Search Finalist 2012 Elizabeth Nonemaker, Claude Debussy, Manuel De Falla, Alan Hovhaness, Henryk Gorecki and Francis Poulenc performed in a cabaret-style setting by MCCE members Tamara Keshecki (flute), Amanda Romano (harp), Elizabeth McCullough (soprano) and Wen-Yi Lo (piano).
