Building on the success of the first Professional Series in its new, state-of-the-art facility, StarStruck Theatre announces its upcoming Student Series production of RENT: School Edition. Music Theatre International (MTI) granted StarStruck the privilege of producing the World Premiere of RENT: School Edition in 2007, and now the musical that changed Broadway is coming back to the Treasure Coast. It will play StarStruck Theatre April 20-29.

The Carolina Actors Studio Theatre (CAST) in Charlotte, North Carolina will present the regional premiere of FLOYD COLLINS April 12-May 12, 2012. The musical by playwright Tina Landau and composer Adam Guettel is based on the true story of the heroic, but ultimately unsuccessful, struggle to free explorer Floyd Collins from a Kentucky cave in 1925. The tragedy was covered by newspapers throughout the United States for two weeks, and drew thousands of spectators to the remote rescue site, making it one of the most sensational news events of the early 20th century and inspiring one of the most unusual stage productions ever written.

Varla Jean Merman aka Jeffery Roberson will play the title role in Menotti's THE MEDIUM at The Art House directed by Donna Drake. Produced by Provincetown Counter Productions in association with Mark Cortale this production will run from May 18th - June 3rd. Elizabeth Hastings who has conducted for both New York City Opera and College Light Opera on Cape Cod will music direct. The cast also includes Stefanie Izzo as Monica, Edmund Bagnell as Toby, Shannon Carson as Mrs. Gobineau, Peter Kendall Clark as Mr. Gobineau and Maria Elena Armijo as Mrs. Nolan. This production is slated to transfer to the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theatre in NY for a limited engagement in the fall. The Fresh Beat Band, Nickelodeon's popular preschool music group and stars of the hit TV series of the same name, are adding a second leg (50 cities, 70 performances) to their current sold-out nationwide concert tour. More than 200,000 fans will have seen the live show by the end of the first run making it one of this year's most successful music tours. After a brief break from the road, the tour will resume Aug. 23 in Melbourne, Fla. The band will travel to theaters and amphitheaters across the country including New York City's Beacon Theater, Los Angeles' Nokia Theater L.A. LIVE, Atlanta's Fox Theater, the Chicago Theater, Vienna's Wolftrap, The Great Allentown Fair and the historic Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.

She is described as 'pioneering in her valorization of voguing, creating the video for Madonna's 'Vogue' in 1992 and serving on the jury of many of New York's underground voguing balls, elaborate early 1980s events in which 'walkers' competed in a series of categories emulating high fashion, style or a ways of being.'
