Maybe it is my reaction to the rain pouring down outside my window. Perhaps it's because I am under the weather, sick, uncomfortably wrapped under the warm and protective covers of my bed as I write this. But I am feeling extremely nostalgic today, recalling my days as a kid; a big dreamer standing on awkwardly skinny legs. You see, being sick as an adult sucks because there is no one there to take care of you! Mom? Dad? Where are you?
I have had another fantastic week! And today I'm gearing up for the weekend! As I mentioned in my last blog, usually on my days off, I tend to 'nerd out'. Often I spend time at The American Museum of Natural History (and this Wednesday was no exception). On this occasion, I took my good friend and castmate Tessa Alves with me, and we headed straight to the Planetarium show. I have seen this spectacular exhibit three times, and each time I see it, I become re-inspired with life, and I always leave with a sense of inner peace and tranquility. If you like science or have interest in learning more about our Universe, then you need to see this show.
Hello friends! This week we get a break from the promo events for 'Rock Of Ages'. It was a whirlwind for the past few weeks but it was a ton of fun!
How was your week? I am gearing up for the weekend, which means 5 shows over at Rock of Ages. For me, that means lots of green tea, working out, and maybe a few chocolate covered espresso beans! That's how I keep my stamina going for such a high energy show. I also am a big advocate of eating healthy - not just to look great in my costumes, but for energy and well being. (I'll touch upon that a bit more next week!)
Hello again friends! What an amazing month October is shaping up to be. All month long at ROCK OF AGES, we're celebrating 'Rocktoberfest' with a ton of fun events and prizes, all leading up to a "Fan Appreciation Night" on October 29, when we are going to honor our biggest super-fans! Now through Oct. 15, fans can submit videos, photos and stories at www.RockOfAgesMusical.com/Fan-Awards to be nominated for a Rock of Ages Fan Award. Fellow fans will then have one week to vote, and 10 winners will receive two free tickets to Rock of Ages on Oct. 29! Get online and enter!
Happy hump day. Actually, for me it is not hump day but rather my only day off during the week. Rock of Ages has a different schedule compared to other Broadway shows. We are dark on Wednesdays rather than Mondays. It works out so great that way for us, as it gives me the opportunity to be an audience member at other Broadway shows that I want to see on my day off.
Hi friends! What an amazing last 6 months I have had. In March I finished out the first national tour of 'Mary Poppins' in Mexico City playing for almost 5,000 people a night. Touring was such an unforgettable experience and I feel lucky to have been a part of such an amazing group of people. I landed back in NYC after being away for almost 6 years, and much to my surprise I booked my first Broadway show my second week back. What a welcome back to NYC gift that was! On April 3rd I made my Broadway debut in the hit show 'Rock of Ages', and since then the fun has not stopped.
