Dallas Theater Center's World Premiere engagement of MOONSHINE: That Hee Haw Musical, a new musical comedy lovingly (and loosely) inspired by the classic TV series, began performances at Dallas Theater Center on September 2, 2015, and officially opened Friday, September 18, 2015. Performances run through October 11, 2015.

Geffen Playhouse presents the West Coast premiere of THESE PAPER BULLETS! A Modish Ripoff of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, opening the not-for-profit organization's 20th anniversary season in the Gil Cates Theater. Written by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Emmy Award nominated writer Rolin Jones (Friday Night Lights, Boardwalk Empire) with songs by Grammy Award winner Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong and staged byJackson Gay, THESE PAPER BULLETS! was commissioned by Yale Repertory Theatre where it premiered in 2014. The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park opens its 2015-16 season with the heartwarming, soaring musical THE SECRET GARDEN, based on the enduring family classic penned more than a century ago by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Winner of three Tony Awards on Broadway, with book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Marsha Norman and music by Lucy Simon, THE SECRET GARDEN runs Sept. 5-Oct. 3 in the Playhouse's Robert S. On September 12, Jonas Kaufmann made his debut in the the celebrated 'Last Night of the Proms concert', televised live from London's Royal Albert Hall. He sang a selection of Puccini arias, including 'Nessun Dorma' and also was the first German to sing "Rule Britannia" in the history of 'Last Night of the Proms' performances.

Signature Theatre opened The Fix directed by Signature Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer (Broadway's Gigi, Follies, Million Dollar Quartet). Featuring a book by John Dempsey and music by Dana P. Rowe (the creators of Brother Russia and The Witches of Eastwick).  The show quickly became a favorite among Signature's artistic team during its U.S. premiere at the Theatre in 1998, cementing a longstanding relationship with Dempsey and Rowe. Running in the MAX Theatre August 11 - September 20,the inside-politics musical satire is the first production of Signature Theatre's 2015/2016 season. 

BroadwayWorld previously reported that Tenor Jonas Kaufmann warned fans not to buy the Puccini Album from Decca, uriging fans to wait until the 'real' Puccini album is released with Sony on September 11.  

Ali MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal star in the national tour of LOVE LETTERS, celebrated playwright A.R. Gurney's enduring romance about first loves and second chances. The Huntington Theatre Company will open its 2015-2016 season with the Tony Award-winning musical A Little Night Music, Stephen Sondheim's most romantic and popular work, led by Tony and Olivier nominee Haydn Gwynne, as well as Broadway's Stephen Bogardus and Lauren Molina. Huntington Artistic Director Peter DuBois (after all the terrible things I do; Smart People; Rapture, Blister, Burn; and Becky Shaw) will direct. Written by Aaron Thielen, with music and lyrics by Michael Mahler, OCTOBER SKY is directed by Jeff Award-winner Rachel Rockwell. Music Direction is by Ryan T. Nelson. Presented in association withUniversal Stage Productions (Billy Elliott, Wicked, Bring It On), and from the writing team that brought audiences HERO (Jeff Award, Best New Work, 2012), OCTOBER SKY is based on the beloved Universal Pictures film October Sky and the bestselling novel Rocket Boys by Homer H. Hickam, Jr. The show opened on August 26.

David Galpern / Corey Ross / Starvox Entertainment present the premiere of National Lampoon's Full House The Musical! A Tanner Family Parody!. Starring larger than life celebrity personality Perez Hilton as Danny Tanner, the production is on stage at the Randolph Theatre (736 Bathurst St.) for a strictly limited engagement from August 18, to September 6. Full House The Musical will also be heading off-Broadway this fall.
