After finding his passion and love for musical theatre in high school, Cheyne would go on to star in productions at Honolulu, Hawaii’s Diamond Head Theatre, 'The Broadway of the Pacific'. He has performed in the ensemble of Showboat (2014), alongside John Sloan of Broadway’s The Lion King, South Pacific (2015), alongside Tony nominee Loretta Ables Sayre, and A Christmas Carol (2016). Taking a hiatus from the stage to help behind the scenes, Cheyne currently serves as the theatre’s part-time House Manager. By day, he teaches high school English and Performing Arts at Damien Memorial School. Before transitioning to BroadwayWorld, he served as a Contributing Editor for Hitting the Stage, Hawaii’s prominent theatre website. In his free time, Cheyne enjoys traveling, having been to France, England, Italy, Greece, Canada, Japan, Thailand, and Morocco. Favorite stage musicals of Cheyne’s include Mamma Mia!, Chicago, The Sound of Music, and The King and I (he asks for continued prayers for friend and Tony winner Ruthie Ann Miles).
