Carole J. Bufford made her entrance on the New York cabaret stage in the Metropolitan Room's MetroStar Talent Challenge. Immediately following, she was asked to perform at the 2009 Cabaret Convention at Jazz@Lincoln Center presented by the Mabel Mercer Foundation. In addition, Ms. Bufford has been featured in numerous Broadway By The Year concerts, both at The Town Hall and in California. She has also performed in All Singin', All Dancin' as well as the recent Tribute to Judy Garland and The Art of American Dance at The Town Hall where she shared the stage with Lorna Luft and Susan Stroman in an all-star cast.

Clayton Phillips makes his directorial debut at the Miami Beach Stage Door Theatre, leading a cast of accomplished actors in what promises to be a riveting production. Currently the Production Manager for Maltz Jupiter Theatre, Clayton has also directed local Florida productions of Music Man, Hairspray and Chicago for Lake Worth Playhouse and The Outgoing Tide for Arts Garage in Delray Beach. He is the recipient of the New Hampshire Theatre Award for Best Director for his production of John Pielmeier's Slow Dance With A Hot Pick-Up and was Harold Prince's assistant for the Broadway and touring productions of Kiss of the Spider Woman, Candide and Parade.

The Waterfront Playhouse presents Emmy Award-winner Leslie Jordan as part of Key West Pride Week. Mr. Jordan will be bringing his critically-acclaimed new show, "Fruit Fly" to the Waterfront stage on June 8th and 9th at 8 pm. Tickets are $45, and they are going fast. Mr. Jordan is best known for his performance in the stage and film versions of "Sordid Lives," and his Emmy-winning turn as Beverley Leslie, the comic foil to Megan Mullally's Karen Walker on "Will and Grace."

Since its Broadway premiere on November 13, 1997, 19 productions around the globe have been seen by more than 64 million people, grossed over $4.8 billion and, cumulatively, run a staggering 91 years. Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions (under the direction of Thomas Schumacher), THE LION KING is the sixth longest running musical in Broadway history and only the second show to produce five productions running 10 or more years.

FUNDarte's Out in the Tropics brings award-winning contemporary LBGTQ artists and arts events to South Florida annually. In its third year, the Festival presents Teatro El Publico's staging of Caligula from Havana, Cuba on June 14-16, 2012, at 8:00 p.m. at the Colony Theater, in Miami Beach. In this production (never before seen in the U.S.), the tyrannical Caligula is given a contemporary face, armed with a 'mask of gayness' and 'the glamour of illustrious uniforms,' inciting audiences to witness other forms of misconduct beyond the sexual.

Gulfshore Playhouse announced the final show that will complete their 2012-2013 season: "I Am My Own Wife", the Tony Award-winning and Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Doug Hughes. The Playhouse will present this play that the New York Times called "both moving and intellectually absorbing" January 18-Feb 3, 2013, with a preview performance on January 17th.

New Theatre (THE NEW) announced its last play of the 2011-2012 season, A Bicycle Country by Pulitzer Prize award winning playwright Nilo Cruz running from June 8 - 24, 2012. This stirring portrait of three Cuban exiles and their harrowing journey across the Caribbean Sea examines the universal themes of freedom and oppression, hope and survival.

Craig Smith, Managing Partner of the new Alhambra Theatre & Dining announced this morning that Joyce DeWitt will star in Sam Bobrick's romantic comedy, Remember Me. Miss DeWitt is most widely known to audiences for her starring role as 'Janet Wood' in the ABC Television hit series "Three's Company," but she is no stranger to live theater, working both as actress and director in a stage career which spans over forty years. She recently starred in A Scattered, Smothered and Covered Christmas Musical and the Canadian productions of the 2000 Pulitzer Prize-winning play Dinner With Friends and Alfred Uhry's Tony Award-winning play The Last Night of Ballyhoo.

On June 17, 2011, Conundrum presented its first Sirens & Strings in Hallandale spotlighting 11 acts. Genres provided were pop, folk, soul, R&B, and jazz. Two editions later, cabaret and world music were featured. Comedy and poetry were also implemented exposing local female performances.

Award-winning Mosaic Theatre continues its tradition of staging thought-provoking dramatic work with its production of 'The Edge of Our Bodies" by celebrated author Adam Rapp, the fifth and final show of Mosaic's landmark Eleventh Anniversary Season. Over the past year, Mosaic has staged some of the most memorable moments in theatre, including its sold-out production of Eric Simonson's hit play "Lombardi" and most recently, Mosaic's critically acclaimed World Premiere production of "A Measure of Cruelty" by Joe Calarco. The result is a non-stop laugh-fest in which a crafty slave (Pseudolus) struggles to win the hand of a beautiful but slow-witted courtesan (Philia) for his young master (Hero), in exchange for freedom.

LA CAGE AUX FOLLES recently made Tony Awards history as the first show to ever win the Tony Award three times for best production. The classic musical comedy by Jerry Herman and Harvey Fierstein originally won six Tony Awards in 1984, including Best Musical. A Broadway revival won two 2005 Tony Awards including the Best Revival of a Musical prize. The new, freshly reconceived LA CAGE won three 2010 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical and Best Director of a Musical (Terry Johnson).

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County presents City Theatre's 17th annual SUMMER SHORTS FESTIVAL, South Florida's fast and furiously fun program of the nation's hottest short plays, staged in the intimate Carnival Studio Theater (Ziff Ballet Opera House) from June 1-17, 2012. Under the new direction of Producing Artistic Director John Manzelli, the sizzling 17th season of the company's acclaimed SUMMER SHORTS FESTIVAL features fifteen performances of ten original short plays - some raucous, others innovative and poignant, but with the ultimate goal to make audiences laugh.

The Playgroup kicks off its second year with SHORTCUTS 2, a program of nine short plays by local playwrights. The show will play at The Empire Stage, 1140 North Flagler Drive, Fort Lauderdale, Saturday June 2nd, at 8pm and Sunday June 3rd at 3pm.
