The Pulitzer Prize-winning play A Streetcar Named Desire follows the story of Blanche DuBois, a weak and disturbed woman on a desperate prowl for some place in the world to call her own. After losing their ancestral home, Belle Reve, Blanche shows up at the doorstep of her sister, Stella, in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Putting on airs of refinement and Southern gentility, Blanche tries to impress her brother-in-law, and his gentle, good-natured friend, Mitch. Seeking to escape from reality, and an emblem of a lost traditional South, Blanche becomes a victim of the harsh present. Marlon Brando starred in the Broadway production and the 4-time Academy Award-winning film adaptation. This will mark the 65th Anniversary of this enduring Tennessee Williams classic.

Florida Repertory Theatre announced the opening of Black Tie, a BRAND-NEW comedy from A.R. Gurney, author of Florida Rep's nationally acclaimed Sylvia. Making its regional premiere at Florida Rep after a successful 2011 Off-Broadway run, The New York Times called Black Tie one of Gurney's 'most enjoyable plays…a gratifying, engaging, touching comedy.'

The sixth and final concert series in The Palm Beach Pops' 20th Anniversary Season, The Magic of Broadway and Disney Favorites will feature Broadway stars Lea Salonga, Tony and Drama Desk Winner, best known as the singing voice in Disney movies and for her leading roles in Miss Saigon and Les Miserables, and 2007 Helen Hayes Award winner David Burnham of Wicked. A likely return to TV in a new comedy series has forced LILY TOMLIN to postpone her performance at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, which was originally scheduled for April 15, 2012, and will now take place on May 6, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall. As a part in the Center's 2011-2012 Comedy Planet Series, LILY TOMLIN's performances are always filled with unforgettable laughter.

New Theatre's World Premiere of Property Line, by local Carbonell nominated playwright Juan C. Sanchez, running March 23 - April 8, 2012 stars Florida International University Alumnus Evelyn Perez, New World School of the Arts & Barry University Professor Scott Douglas Wilson, retired City of Miami police Lt. Bill Schwartz, University Center for the Performing Arts Director of Dance Barbara Sloan, and acting apprentice and student of Coral Reef Senior High Javier "Javi" Cabrera. In this relevant and funny play, two long-time friends and neighbors, portrayed by Ms. Perez and Ms. Sloan, are at war over 15 feet of green grass on waterfront property.

Based on Anthol Fugard's early life in South Africa, 'MASTER HAROLD'...and the boys tells the story of Willie and Sam, two black waiters who work in the St. George's Park Tea Room, and Hally, the tea room owner's son. Hally has known Willie and Sam all his life, and is very fond of them both; however, on one rainy day in 1950 their wide-ranging discussions illustrate all that unites us and the gulf that still divides us. Considered to be one of Fugard's greatest pieces, '"Master Harold"…and the boys" tells the universal story of human relationships that are put to the test by societal and personal forces.

The new Broadway musical, COME FLY AWAY, conceived, choreographed, and directed by Tony Award-winner Twyla Tharp and by special arrangement with the Frank Sinatra Family and Frank Sinatra Enterprises, will open at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County on March 20, 2012.

South Florida theater fans are in for an array of Broadway hits as the awesomely cool, ROCK OF AGES, opens the all musical Broadway in Miami 2012 - 2013 season at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami Dade County. Scheduled to launch the season with a bang, from October 9-14, ROCK OF AGES will be followed by the high-stepping Broadway Musical for the entire family, MARY POPPINS, set to bring in the New Year, January 1-6; the return of the world's greatest musical, LES MISÉRABLES, in a brand new 25th anniversary production, February 26 - March 3; the outlandishly colorful PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT will keep audiences on their feet with its parade of dance-floor favorites, April 2-7; and Best Musical Tony Winner of 2010 MEMPHIS will make its triumphant Miami debut with its explosive dancing and powerhouse songs, May 7-12.

Florida Repertory Theatre announced the opening of Tru in the Florida Rep Studio Theatre, a devastatingly funny glimpse into the mind of America's icon, Truman Capote. CHITA RIVERA March 20-24 & 27-31 Two Time Tony Award winner Chita Rivera will perform songs from her legendary Broadway career with an intimate evening of music in Chita Rivera: My Broadway. Accompanied by her longtime musical trio, led by musical director Michael Croiter, Ms. Rivera will perform selections from her most celebrated musicals, including numbers from West Side Story ("America"), Sweet Charity ("Where Am I Going?" and "Big Spender"), Chicago ("All That Jazz" and "Nowadays"), Kiss of the Spider Woman, Bye, Bye, Birdie and The Rink, and featuring the music of Leonard Bernstein, John Kander & Fred Ebb, Charles Strouse, Stephen Sondheim and Cy Coleman among others.

West Palm Beach's only resident professional theatre, Palm Beach Dramaworks, will launch its 13th Anniversary Season with Lanford Wilson's Pulitzer Prize winning play "Talley's Folly" on Friday, October 12th (8PM) at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre (201 Clematis Street).
