The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County announced its 5th Anniversary Broadway in Miami 2010-2011/Broadway Across America season with a line-up of five Tony® Award-winning Miami premiere engagements. The 5th Anniversary season kicks off October 2010 at the Sanford and Dolores Ziff Ballet Opera House with an all-new production of DREAMGIRLS direct from New York's Apollo Theater; followed by a December limited holiday engagement: NETworks presents Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST- the enchanting, romantic musical for all generations; March brings in two of Broadway's biggest blockbusters and Best Musical Tony® winners: JERSEY BOYS, the story of rock 'n roll Hall of Famers, The Four Seasons, followed by the Latino hit musical IN THE HEIGHTS. June closes the season with HAIR, the 2009 Tony® Award winner for Best Musical Revival.

The fourth play will be filled with the new play from the always original Sarah Ruhl (The Clean House, Dead Man's Cell Phone) titled, In the Next Room or the vibrator play. Fresh from its successful run at Lincoln Center in New York, Caldwell Theatre was one of the first regional theater's to gain the rights to produce the play. 'What will grab people's attention with this piece is its enormous heart,' opined Cholerton. In The Next Room... focuses on a doctor at the turn of the century who is experimenting with a new electrical device to treat women with a variety of anxiety related symptoms. Not surprisingly, his patients continue to leave personal belongings behind to assure themselves an immediate second appointment. 'The play is indeed based on historical fact of the medical treatment of women at the time, but as is the case with any Sarah Ruhl play, you are taken into a world of heightened fantasy which has you engaged with these wonderful characters from start to finish. I believe In The Next Room will be one of the lasting plays to come out of the 00's decade,' concluded Cholerton.

The Waterfront Playhouse presents 'BitchSlap!'starring Christopher Peterson as Bette Davis, Randy Roberts as Joan Crawford and Vanessa McCaffrey as Hedda Hopper. Written and directed by Darrin Hagen, 'BitchSlap!' played to completely sold out houses during the 2009 WFPH run. Now back by popular demand, it runs for two weeks only, March 30 to April 10 at 8 pm. I promise you that I wanted to love IN THE HEIGHTS. A few minutes into the show, I would have settled for just not disliking it. I am here to report that despite winning the Tony Award for Best Musical, IN THE HEIGHTS never reaches the heights it sets out for.

Together with Fellow Idol Contestant Danny Noriega, they will wow the audience with their rockin' sweet Big Voices. The show will touch on the importance of giving back to our community such as GK (Gawad Kalinga), a global army against poverty.
