The Emerging Artists Showcase is a unique partnership between a professional, regional theater and a secondary school theatre program. Its purpose is to present selected graduates from the AW Dreyfoos School of Arts Theatre Program to the South Florida theatre/film community. The showcase is directed by Kenneth Kay (a Carbonell award-winning director and former Producing Artistic Director of the Blowing Rock Stage Company, North Carolina) in collaboration with Beverly Blanchette (Dreyfoos Theatre Dean/Acting Director) and Bruce Linser (Dreyfoos Music Theatre Director). The showcase includes songs, scenes, and monologues from popular, contemporary plays/musicals along with original works.

A Measure of Cruelty (April 19-May 13) is inspired by actual events of 2009 where a 15 year old boy was doused with rubbing alcohol and set on fire by four teenagers, a tragic event that impacted South Florida's local community and touched a nerve in our nation's conscience.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County proudly presents The House Theatre of Chicago's critically-acclaimed production of DEATH and HARRY HOUDINI. This play marks the second House Theatre of Chicago production presented at the Adrienne Arsht Center after last season's The Sparrow. Written and directed by The House's Artistic Director Nathan Allen, DEATH and HARRY HOUDINI delivers a roller coaster ride through the life of the great magician, Harry Houdini, and his life-long battle against death. House Company Member and award-winning magician, Dennis Watkins, has joined the cast and is set to perform Houdini's most renowned and dangerous escape-the dreaded Water Torture Cell-in this dark and tumultuous story guaranteed to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. DEATH and HARRY HOUDINI plays in the intimate Carnival Studio Theater (Ziff Ballet Opera House) from April 26 - May 20, 2012.

Nation, will bring this deliciously naughty hit musical with its irresistible charm to Andrews Living Arts, 23 NW 5th St. Fort Lauderdale, 33301, beginning on April 6 for an unlimited run. With 2,534 performances, Avenue Q ranks 21st on the list of longest running shows in Broadway history.

It was the end of World War II, the beginning of the Baby Boom, and a time of innocence and prosperity. It was also a time of great music! Bringing that great "bubble gum pop" music back to the stage is The Plaza Theatre in Manalapan, Florida with their upcoming musical revue Music! Music! Music!

Carbonell nominated actress and acclaimed jazz artist Paulette Dozier will star as Billie Holiday in Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, playwright Lanie Robertson's portrait of the legendary jazz singer in performance four months before her death. The play, which will be produced by the Boca Raton Theatre Guild, will run for four performances only - April 27-29th at the Willow Theatre in Sugar Sand Park. Additional performances have been added for Saturday May 5 at 2 and 8pm and Sunday May 6 at 2 pm.

Marlon Brando starred in the Broadway production and the 4-time Academy Award-winning film adaptation. This will mark the 65th Anniversary of this enduring Tennessee Williams classic.

Join Outre Theatre Company as they present the third and final production of their pre-season series, a concert performance of Man of La Mancha - book by Dale Wasserman, lyrics by Joe Darion, and music by Mitch Leigh - for one performance only, May 14 at 7pm.
