Based on Anthol Fugard's early life in South Africa, 'MASTER HAROLD'...and the boys tells the story of Willie and Sam, two black waiters who work in the St. George's Park Tea Room, and Hally, the tea room owner's son. Hally has known Willie and Sam all his life, and is very fond of them both; however, on one rainy day in 1950 their wide-ranging discussions illustrate all that unites us and the gulf that still divides us. Considered to be one of Fugard's greatest pieces, '"Master Harold"…and the boys" tells the universal story of human relationships that are put to the test by societal and personal forces.

South Florida theater fans are in for an array of Broadway hits as the awesomely cool, ROCK OF AGES, opens the all musical Broadway in Miami 2012 - 2013 season at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami Dade County. Scheduled to launch the season with a bang, from October 9-14, ROCK OF AGES will be followed by the high-stepping Broadway Musical for the entire family, MARY POPPINS, set to bring in the New Year, January 1-6; the return of the world's greatest musical, LES MISÉRABLES, in a brand new 25th anniversary production, February 26 - March 3; the outlandishly colorful PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT will keep audiences on their feet with its parade of dance-floor favorites, April 2-7; and Best Musical Tony Winner of 2010 MEMPHIS will make its triumphant Miami debut with its explosive dancing and powerhouse songs, May 7-12.

Florida Repertory Theatre announced the opening of Tru in the Florida Rep Studio Theatre, a devastatingly funny glimpse into the mind of America's icon, Truman Capote. Playing Feb. 22-Mar 17, Tru is a fascinating one-man tour-de-force starring Florida Rep favorite, Mark Chambers, as the controversial author of 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' and 'In Cold Blood.'

CHITA RIVERA March 20-24 & 27-31 Two Time Tony Award winner Chita Rivera will perform songs from her legendary Broadway career with an intimate evening of music in Chita Rivera: My Broadway. Accompanied by her longtime musical trio, led by musical director Michael Croiter, Ms. Rivera will perform selections from her most celebrated musicals, including numbers from West Side Story ("America"), Sweet Charity ("Where Am I Going?" and "Big Spender"), Chicago ("All That Jazz" and "Nowadays"), Kiss of the Spider Woman, Bye, Bye, Birdie and The Rink, and featuring the music of Leonard Bernstein, John Kander & Fred Ebb, Charles Strouse, Stephen Sondheim and Cy Coleman among others.

West Palm Beach's only resident professional theatre, Palm Beach Dramaworks, will launch its 13th Anniversary Season with Lanford Wilson's Pulitzer Prize winning play "Talley's Folly" on Friday, October 12th (8PM) at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre (201 Clematis Street). The season will continue with a distinguished roster of plays including "A Delicate Balance" by Edward Albee, "A Raisin in the Sun"by Lorraine Hansberry, "Exit the King" by Eugene Ionesco and "Dancing at Lughnasa" by Brian Friel.

Parade Productions, Boca Raton's newest theatre company, will follow up their wildly successful debut production of Donald Margulies Brooklyn Boy with a premiere reading of South Florida playwright Stuart Meltzer's comedy, Better Than Damn Good. The reading will take place on April 23rd, at 7:30 p.m., at the Studio at Mizner Park in Boca Raton.

In 1929, Paramount won the only Best Picture Oscar given to a silent movie for Wings. Once the studio added sound, it was the songs in its films that soared. Thanks for the Memories: The Music of the Paramount Pictures Era comes to the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts from Thursday April 12-Sunday April 15. New Theatre is offering its "25 under 25 Free Student Tickets" program once again for the opening weekend of Property Line. From March 23-25, 2012 the first 25 students (under 25, with a valid student ID) to come to the box office, a half hour before curtain get in free. Students who come after the free tickets are gone can still get $5 off the regular student ticket price by purchasing a ticket for $10. This promotion is only valid for opening weekend and is subject to availability. The playwright, Juan C. Sanchez, will be in attendance on opening weekend and, as an added bonus, students will be able to meet him and participate in the post play discussion after the Sunday matinee performance.

Commissioned specially for Florida Rep in 2006 by renowned children's theatre author, Kathryn Schultz Miller, Thomas Edison: Fire of Genius examines landmark events in the great inventor's life and shows us how he became a legend. Edison himself takes the audience on an inspirational journey through his childhood full of woes, the invention of the light bulb, and even chronicles his years spent in Southwest Florida on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River. A fast-paced and zany look at Edison and life at the turn of the 20th century, Fire of Genius gives audiences a rare glimpse into the life and times of 'The Wizard of Menlo Park.' Edison's journey teaches children that 'genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.'

West Palm Beach's only resident professional theatre, Palm Beach Dramaworks, will present "The Fantasticks" - known around the globe as the world's longest running musical by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt - as their summer offering, opening Friday, July 13th (8PM) for a strictly limited engagement at the new Don & Ann Brown Theatre (201 Clematis Street). Special priced preview performances are slated for July 11th & 12th with regularly scheduled curtain times through August 5th.

The sixth and final concert series in The Palm Beach Pops' 20th Anniversary Season, The Magic of Broadway and Disney Favorites will feature Broadway stars Lea Salonga, Tony and Drama Desk Winner, best known as the singing voice in Disney movies and for her leading roles in Miss Saigon and Les Miserables, and 2007 Helen Hayes Award winner David Burnham of Wicked. New Theatre's World Premiere of Property Line, by local Carbonell nominated playwright Juan C. Sanchez, running March 23 - April 8, 2012 stars Florida International University Alumnus Evelyn Perez, New World School of the Arts & Barry University Professor Scott Douglas Wilson, retired City of Miami police Lt. Bill Schwartz, University Center for the Performing Arts Director of Dance Barbara Sloan, and acting apprentice and student of Coral Reef Senior High Javier "Javi" Cabrera. In this relevant and funny play, two long-time friends and neighbors, portrayed by Ms. Perez and Ms. Sloan, are at war over 15 feet of green grass on waterfront property.

From her Tony Award-winning performance in Purlie to co-starring with Eartha Kitt in Timbuktu to playing Fantine in Les Miserables, she has been an audience favorite along the Great White Way. A regular on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Ms. Moore headlined her own variety show on CBS, was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist, was the first female pop artist to do a non-operatic solo concert at New York City's Metropolitan Opera House and even had two #1 hit singles on Billboard.

Florida Repertory Theatre announced the opening of Red, 2010's electrifying and Tony-Winning BEST PLAY from the Oscar-nominated author of The Aviator, Gladiator and Hugo. Red is a provocative portrait of an angry and briliant man, expressionist painter, Mark Rothko. Playing March 6-25.
