BARBARINO’S BIG NIGHT OUT is one of those old-school shows you might have heard happened “back in the day” that always induces retroactive “FOMO.” The monthly show is a throwback to a wilder, crazier New York nightlife.

Jazz singer and songwriter Clint Holmes, in excellent voice, presented a terrific set of songs associated with James Taylor and Joni Mitchell, as well as a pair of Clint Holmes originals in this 9/17 and 9/20 show.

Rising star Anaïs Reno made a fine debut at Dizzy's on August 26th, in celebration of her latest album, 'Lady of the Lavender Mist' with her excellent trio.

The popular jazz guitarist and vocalist John Pizzarelli opened up an eight-set stint at Birdland Jazz on July 30th. This second set was a swinger, with Pizzarelli in excellent form.

At SMOKE, a swanky Upper West Side jazz supper club and bar, jazz star Jane Monheit is celebrating 25 years since her first album. With six sets remaining, this show is a good bet.

Betty Buckley is in fine voice, with a terrific band. Her diverse set has her singing some of her favorite songs, some new songs and a few reworked arrangements. A few surprises will make you very glad you came!

The 5/4 show took us through highlights of Berk's CDs, including her latest release, FOUR SEASONS OF SONG: SPRING. Berk is a compelling storyteller with a warm presence and voice and good humor. FOR THE RECORD captures her essence.
