The Swedish King Gustaf III. enjoys great popularity, the majority of the nobility as well as the people. Only the count Horn, Warting and their followers seek him alive. Count René Ankarström, the faithful friend of the King, pointed to an audience, Gustaf on the conspiracy plans the count Horn and Warting. The King wants to know but nothing of these secret activities - he is immortal in Amelia, the wife of Ankarströms falls in love with. Shortly thereafter, people and the Court gathered in the dwelling of the fortune teller Ulrica Arvedson has by the King. Even Amelia requests an appointment with the fortune teller.
