"Herod had be be because of herodias, the wife of his brother of Philip, who he had taken to wife namely arrest John, tie and throw in the Dungeon. Because John had accused Herod: ' it's not allowed to have your brother's wife. That earned him for herodias. She wanted to create it out of the way, but she could not: for Herod had John fear. He knew him as a righteous and holy man, and took him in protection. When he heard him, he was very embarrassed, but nevertheless he heard him gladly. Then came a remote tag. Herod gave his Prince, the captains and the distinguished Galilee a feast on his birthday..." (Mark, chapter VI, verses 17-21)
Narraboth, a Syrian captain, raves about the beauty of Salome. The daughter of herodias leaves the feast and comes out of the Palace. She hears the voice of the Baptist Jochanaan, captive in a cistern. Whose words awaken their curiosity. She wants to see the Prophet. Narraboth, whose falling in love takes advantage of it, meets their desire and leaves out Jochanaan, although it had been banned by Herod.
Jochanaan takes no notice of the Princess Salome and preaches against herodias and the Tetrarch. The dismissive attitude of the Prophet ignited the desire of Salome, to kiss the mouth of Jochanaans.
"I'm in love with your body, Jochanaan. Your body is white as lilies in a field, never touched a sickle... In your hair, I'm in love... let it touch me..."I, Jochanaan anything your mouth... let him kiss me, your mouth."
Your do drives Narraboth in the suicide. Full of contempt, Jochanaan returns to the cistern.
Herod and herodias come from the Palace. Evil notions chastise the Tetrarch. Herodias requests the head of Jokanaan, its hortatory Stimme again sounds from the cistern. Salome kisses the mouths of the prophets. ", Because the mystery of love is greater than the mystery of death." - of horror captured orders Herod to kill Salome.
