In the depths of the Rhine, the three Rhine maidens guard the gold. Alberich, the Lord of the Nibelung who tries in vain to win one of the three girls to sees the gold and first learns that to rob the gold only on the love abschwörte be, and secondly, that a ring forged from this gold would give immense power to the institution. Lodge leads Alberich, to demonstrate his skills. When he turned into a toad, pack it the gods and haul it away with her. Alberich must pay with stealth and ring for his freedom, but he cursed the ring: he should bring its owner except power death and misfortune. Wotan reluctantly passes on to the giant the Lair, the ring but on appeal of the goddess Erda, which warns of the misery that the ring will bring. Freia is solved, the curse on the ring starts to work but already: Fafner kills Fasolt, because they cannot agree, the ring now should be to whom. In spite of the gods involve in the new abode...
