1 Act
The Ethiopians threaten the Egyptian Empire under the leadership of their King Amonasro anew. On the advice of the goddess ISIS, Radames to pull as a General at the head of the Egyptian warrior against the Ethiopians.
Radames dreams of glory and fame - and Aida, which serves as the Ethiopian slave of Egyptian Princess of Amneris. Secret, intimate love combines Radames and AIDA. But also Amneris passionately desires the young brave warrior. Sudden suspicion wakes up in her, as she is aware of the views between the lovers. See jubilation and ceremonies, Radames from the King is transferred the Feldherrnwürde. AIDA is desperate: Radames, the beloved, is against their people, or even what nobody suspects on the Egyptian Königshofe however, their father Amonasro fight.
Priests and priestesses invoke the God Ptah, to assist the Egyptians in the struggle against the Ethiopians. Radames receives the holy sword of victory-transferring from the high priest of Ramfis.

2 Act
The Egyptian army has defeated the enemies. Amneris is adorned by their slaves for the victory celebration. Eagerly, she expected the coveted Radames. But sudden tormenting it doubts again. Should she really have a rival in Aida? She must provide certainty. Through a ruse, it succeeds to elicit the confession of her love for Radamès and AIDA.
Radamès arrives triumphantly as the winner. During the Ethiopian prisoner Aida sees her father. Amonasro conceals his stand, however, explains that the Ethiopian King in battle had fallen, and asks for mercy for the inmates. Ramfis warns, but also Radames joins this request. The captives are set free. Only AIDA and her father are to remain as hostages at the Egyptian Court. As thanks for his courageous dedication to the motherland, the King Radames offers the hand of his daughter of Amneris and the succession. The people cheer; Amneris at the destination of your dreams looks drunk with joy.

3 Act
Amneris is run by Ramfis in the Temple of lsis, to pray the night before your wedding with Radames. AIDA is Radames. Amonasro, the tilt of his daughter to the Egyptian commander has not hidden the followed her. See summon the suffering of their people, he persuades them to move Radames to the disclosure of the Egyptian attack plans against the now thriving on Ethiopians. Desperate Aida agrees. Amonasro hides. Aida able to convince Radames to a common flight and to find a way which is safe from the Egyptian forces. Thus, Radames, but has betrayed the deployment plan of the Egyptians for the upcoming fight. Triumphantly, Amonasro comes out from his hiding place and reveals himself as King of the Ethiopians. Radames, recognizing the significance of his betrayal, turns the guards. Amonasro and Aida escape.

4. Act
Radames, treason accused, should be sentenced to death. Amneris, who still loves him, is trying to wrest him from the impending fate through revocation of his confession. But for Radames, a life without Aida is pointless. He rejects the application of Amneris. Silently he accepts the judgment of the priest: death due to enclosure.
Included in a subterranean vault, Radames is his end. Suddenly, he is aware that he is not alone. Aida has crept unnoticed, ready to die with the beloved. In death, her love meets...
