Ross Mueller's ZEBRA!, a new play commissioned by Sydney Theatre Company, features an exceptional cast of Bryan Brown, Colin Friels and Nadine Garner. Directed by Lee Lewis, the production is at Wharf 1, opening on 10 March 2011.

Set in January 2009 at the peak of the global financial crisis, an American, Larry (Colin Friels), and an Australian, Jimmy (Bryan Brown), go head-to-head in a New York Irish Bar. They are both middle-aged, successful businessmen. Jimmy is there to strike the deal of a lifetime, but what he has to offer is not something in which Larry is ever likely to invest.

Stuck in the middle of this testosterone-fuellEd Battle is Robinson (Nadine Garner), the owner of the bar, who is in the depths of a crisis of her own. When chance brings these two men to ‘The Big House', the course of her future is set to change.

Ross Mueller's fast-paced, mid-life crisis comedy is his STC Main Stage debut following the 2009 STC Next Stage commission, Concussion, co-presented with Griffin Theatre Company. Director Lee Lewis leads the creative team, following the success of her STC production of Honour by Joanna Murray-Smith last year.

Three of Australia's most highly-regarded actors make welcome returns to STC after some time. Colin Friels, whose most recent film credits include The Eye of the Storm and A Heartbeat Away, last performed with STC in Victory by Howard Barker in 2004. Nadine Garner, particularly well-known to TV audiences for City Homicide recently appeared in the feature film The Wedding Party. Her last performance for STC was in 2000's Life After George by HAnnie Rayson. Bryan Brown's recent films include Love Birds, Limbo and Beautiful Kate. His last performance with STC was in the 1992 in The Rain Dancers by Karin Mainwaring.

All remaining tickets for ZEBRA! will be released on Monday 14 February.
