Stephanie Harrison Premieres Her Unapologetic One-woman Comedy 'Archetypal Outrage' At The Butterfly Club

By: Oct. 04, 2018

Hip-hop dancer and choreographer Stephanie Harrison is set to premiere her debut solo hour in Archetypal Outrage this October. This electric show is bursting at the seams with original song, choreography and comedy, and offers a loud and proud take-down of the patriarchy, along with an honest and hilarious celebration of self.

Stephanie Harrison throws the viewer into the drivers' seat on what it looks like when one rips down their own walls and shows their true self. Her autobiographical hyperbole is further deepened by drawing stories from the audience, and giving them unique new characters and voices.

Through a deeply personal lens, Harrison has embarked on a mission to discover what it means to be an empowered woman in the 21st Century. "We see so many 'dead' people walking around just fitting the mould and sticking to unhelpful archetypes. I want to give CPR to the dead spirits I see walking throughout our patriarchal western society," she states, then half-jokingly, "This show is also about unpacking the inner bogan in me"

After launching a wildly successful career as a hip-hop dancer and choreographer, This is Harrison's full-length cabaret debut. Harrison has also been part of two incredibly successful seasons in Melbourne Fringe with the performance art installations Conzoom and 19 Magnified Observations.

Archetypal Outrage is a journey for others to feel empathy in a polarising world; it provides comedic relief that equally escapes and helps with tips on how to deal with modern life. The production opens on the 15th of October and runs for six nights. Bookings highly recommended.
