Season Extended For MTC's TORCH THE PLACE

Due to popular demand, Torch the Place by Benjamin Law has been extended until Monday 23 March, with an additional performance added to the season.
Several performances sold out before the season began demonstrating high anticipation for this brand new MTC NEXT STAGE commission.
Opening to a standing ovation last Friday, Law's debut play has been captivating audiences with its 'laugh-out-loud zingers' (Limelight Magazine) and 'richly drawn characters' (The Guardian).
MTC Artistic Director and CEO Brett Sheehy AO said, 'We are delighted with the incredible response to Benjamin Law's playwriting debut. As our second NEXT STAGE work produced for the mainstage, it is especially rewarding to see audiences so hungry for new Australian stories to be told in the theatre. It is our great pleasure to witness these stories spark conversations and contribute new perspectives to our cultural canon.'
Directed by Dean Bryant, Torch the Place features a brilliant cast including Diana Lin, Michelle Lim Davidson, Charles Wu, Max Brown and Fiona Choi portraying a dysfunctional, but loving, Gold Coast family.
Torch the Place plays at Arts Centre Melbourne until Monday 23 March.
Tickets on sale now for all performances at mtc.com.au
MTC's NEXT STAGE Writers' Program is supported by the donors, foundations and organisations of MTC's Playwrights Giving Circle.
