Reuben Kaye Will Bring HARD TO SWALLOW on Tour in Australia
Kaye was recently appointed as Artistic Director of the 2026 Adelaide Cabaret Festival.
Reuben Kaye will return with a brand-new solo cabaret comedy show, Hard to Swallow sharper, sexier and more political than ever, touring Australia in 2026.
In this no-holds-barred spectacle, Kaye dives headfirst into the truths society would rather choke down than confront. With his trademark wit and razor-sharp political commentary, he takes aim at the big subjects such as masculinity, queer rights and systemic oppression. Kaye sets his sights set on the world - the loud ones, the dangerous ones and those hiding in plain sight. From Charlie Kirk and Donald Trump in the US, to Nigel Farage in the UK, and Australia's own Thomas Sewell and Pauline Hanson.
No one is safe. Kaye asks the uncomfortable questions: we know how we got here - who's to blame? And more importantly, how do we survive? Audiences can expect fearless comedy, explosive satire and the kind of high-voltage cabaret only Kaye can deliver!
It's been a whirlwind period for Kaye, with his recent appointment as Artistic Director of the 2026 Adelaide Cabaret Festival, a limited-season run of his hit show enGORGEd accompanied by an 18-piece orchestra, three consecutive years captivating audiences in Opera Up Late and a national tour of Jesus Christ Superstar, where his acclaimed turn as King Herod drew rave reviews.
