MURIEL'S WEDDING THE MUSICAL And Dress For Success Partnership Announced Image

The highly acclaimed new Australian musical produced by Global Creatures, Muriel's Wedding The Musical, commences in Melbourne in March at Her Majesty's Theatre with previews from March 12 and opening night on March 23. Sydney previews commence from June 28 at Sydney Lyric Theatre.

To coincide with the Melbourne premiere and return Sydney season, Muriel's Wedding The Musical has announced a very special national partnership with Dress for Success. The production will provide various resources and facilitate cash donation initiatives as a contribution to the cause.

Dress for Success is a not-for-profit organisation that serves over 3,000 unemployed women a year who do not have the money or the social capital to invest in a job search and find work. The programs provide donated work clothing, style mentoring, job-search skills, career coaching and networking at no cost to the women using the services. Muriel's Wedding The Musical will support by holding clothing drives and host 'Empower Hour' speaker sessions with company members.

Carmen Pavlovic, CEO of Global Creatures said "Muriel's Wedding the Musical and Dress for Success are aligned in a shared vision of female friendship, support and empowerment. We are very proud to be in partnership with Dress for Success as it wraps women in need with a vision for their future and the career skills to help get there."

Ursula McGeown, CEO of Dress For Success said "We are absolutely thrilled to partner with Muriel's Wedding the Musical. 2019 marks our 10th anniversary. Dress for Success has been changing the lives of Australian women for 10 years. Women, just like Muriel, who are looking to find themselves, to truly believe in themselves and transform their lives for the better. We couldn't be more excited to be partnering with Global Creatures and this production."

Winner of 5 Helpmann Awards, 7 Sydney Theatre Awards, an Awgie Award, the 2018 David Williamson Prize and an ARIA Award Nomination, Muriel's Wedding The Musical celebrated its' world premiere in Sydney in November 2017 and was hailed a smash hit by critics and audiences alike.
