BITE SIZED COMEDIES - A LA CARTE to Premiere at Fringe World Perth, Jan 24-Feb 12

By: Dec. 20, 2013

The UK's critically acclaimed Bite-Size Plays debuts in Australia with a new show developed in collaboration with Interactive Theatre International, the people behind Faulty Towers The Dining Experience. Bite-Size Comedies - À La Carte premières at Fringe World Perth before embarking on a six-month tour, including Adelaide Fringe Festival and Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

As the audience grabs a drink and maybe a bite to eat, plays are performed around them... After an interactive warm-up led by the performers, the audience votes to select five Bite-Size Comedies from a show menu of eight. With each play only 8-15 minutes long, there's no chance of becoming bored! It's a fast-paced feast that's 'laugh-out-loud funny' (Three Weeks).

This exciting new way of dining and socialising with friends is the joint brain-child of Australia's Interactive Theatre International, the people behind Faulty Towers The Dining Experience ('a Fringe legend' -The Skinny, Edinburgh) and Bite-Size Plays, award-winning producers of The Big Bite-Size Breakfast ('a Fringe institution' - Fringe Guru, Brighton).

The eight plays on the menu (no more than 8 - 15 in length) are:

The Needle and The Damage Done by Angus Brown
A 'good' husband has a burning passion that he must keep hidden from his devoted wife.

Hitched by Lindsay Williams
A wedding night to be treasured, never mind the amount of alcohol consumed. Passion is hitting the 10-mark until something gets in the way and the bride's overly helpful parents get involved...

InSex by Jeffrey Neuman

VD by Pete Malicki
Sophie has spent 20 years alone on Valentine's Day - until this year. A mysterious stranger now promises to liberate her from her cats, sofa and ice cream.

Transactions by Scott McAteer

Tell Someone Who Cares by Sara Browne
