TexARTS Announces Cast and Creatives for WAIT UNTIL DARK

By: Sep. 11, 2017

The TexARTS Professional Series presents Wait Until Dark, the groundbreaking thriller that follows a blind woman who finds herself the victim of scheming conmen and in the middle of a murder. Jeffrey Hatcher's adaptation of Wait Until Dark, written by Frederick Knott, plays October 19 - October 29, 2017 at the Kam & James Morris Theatre in Lakeway.

Frederick Knott's play inspired the 1967 film and multiple Broadway productions earning Tony and Academy Award nominations for many of the actors involved - including the film's star, Audrey Hepburn. This adaptation by Jeffery Hatcher captures the suspense made famous by the previous work in a new time and setting. The show is as anxiety inducing as an old film noir, while also containing laugh-out-loud moments.

The cast features Sarah Fleming Walker (Susan), Joe Falocco (Roat), Jason Graf (Mike), Brian Coughlin (Carlino) and Abigail O'Branovich (Gloria).

New York-based director Kasey RT Graham returns to direct the show. Graham previously directed TexARTS' Guys and Dolls. He recently completed a two-year stint as the resident director of the national tour of Phantom of the Opera. He served as the associate director of the Broadway revival On The Twentieth Century, starring Kristen Chenoweth as well as the national tour of Dirty Dancing.

The creative team includes Casey Niblett (scenic design), Madalyn Bond (costume design), Stephen Pruitt (light design), Eliot Fisher (sound design), and Mary Cox (stage manager).

Single tickets start at $40. Single tickets are available by calling TexARTS Box Office at 512-852-9079 x101 or at www.tex-arts.org. All ages are welcome and parking is free. Group rates are available.

Show times. October 20, 21, 26, 27, 28 at 7:30 pm. October 22 and 29 at 2:00 pm.

A special student preview performance will be held October 19 at 7:30 pm.

All performances will be held at the intimate Kam & James Morris Theatre at TexARTS' Erin Doherty Studios, 2300 Lohman's Spur, Suite #160, Lakeway, TX. The lounge opens one hour prior to curtain and offers beer, wine and light snacks. Parking is free.

TexARTS, the Lake Travis nonprofit for the visual and performing arts, offers completely staged professional productions and is a performing and visual arts educational academy. TexARTS is proud to employ hundreds of professional regional actors, musicians and artistic staff living here in Austin.
