The Hallelujah Girls

Hilarity abounds when the feisty females of Eden Falls, Georgia, decide to shake up their lives. The action in this rollicking Southern comedy takes place in SPA-DEE-DAH!, the abandoned church-turned-day-spa where this group of friends gathers every Friday afternoon. After the loss of a dear friend, the women realize time is precious, and if they’re going to change their lives and achieve their dreams, they have to get on it now! From the writers of Christmas Belles, The Dixie Swim Club and Dashing Through the Snow, we’ve got a side-splitting, joyful comedy that will make you laugh out-loud and shout “Hallelujah!”

As miserly old Ebenezer Scrooge falls asleep in his dingy quarters on Christmas Eve, three ghosts appear, each revealing to Scrooge the wrong doings of his life and what will happen if he continues in his evil ways. He is racked with fear and remorse and sets out on Christmas Day to bless with his newfound generosity all those whom he has neglected and abused. A holiday classic for the entire family!

It Could Be Any One of Us

A thunderstorm…in a windswept country house a family of failures wrangles over a will: a detective who has never solved a case, a writer, an artist and a composer whose work has never been published, shown or performed, and a dysfunctional teenager. These are the prime ingredients for a murder mystery…but this diversion is by British Master of Comedy Alan Ayckbourne and it has a number of surprises. The victim is not who it should be and the thrills are leavened with tongue in cheek humor and ironic comment…And one more twist: the murderer changes with every performance! Even the actors don’t know “who done it” until the card game that changes everything!

Death and the Maiden

Ariel Dorfman’s provocative, award-winning drama is set in a country that has only recently returned to democracy. Gerardo Escobar has just been chosen to head the commission that will investigate the crimes of the old regime when his car breaks down and he is picked up by the humane doctor Roberto Miranda. But in the voice of this good Samaritan, Gerardo’s wife thinks she recognizes another man—the one who raped and tortured her.

The story of The Yellow Boat is a glorious affirmation of a child’s life and the strength and courage of all children based on the true story of David and Sonja Saar’s son, Benjamin, who was a gifted artist. Benjamin’s buoyant imagination transformed his pain into a blaze of fanciful art and paintings. A Scandinavian folksong tells of three little boats: “One was blue, one was red, and one was yellow as the sun. The blue one returned to the harbor. The red one sailed home, too. But the yellow boat sailed up to the sun.” Benjamin always concluded his bedtime ritual by saying, “I am the yellow boat.”

The enchanting classic of children’s literature, The Secret Garden, tells the story of 11 year old orphan Mary Lennox who returns to Yorkshire to live with her embittered, reclusive Uncle Archibald and his invalid son, Colin. The estate’s many wonders include a magic garden which beckons the children in this compelling tale of forgiveness and renewal.

Performances: July 26 – August 17

A slapstick musical comedy that follows the rivalry between two half-witted street gangs and the washed up, well-intentioned, one-time boxer who steps in to take control of Fat Sam’s gang to give Dandy Dan and his boys what they’ve got coming. In this film noir spoof, the message is one of good, clean fun; the characters are wonderful 1920’s cartoon cutouts and the weapons of choice are “splurge” whip cream guns, flour bombs, and custard pies.
