Penfold Theatre Company throws its seventh annual fundraising gala, A Marvelous Party, on Sunday, May 1st.

Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II - who together created beloved Broadway hits like The Sound of Music, Oklahoma!, The King and I, Carousel, South Pacific and Cinderella - have been recognized as the greatest writing duo of the 20th century stage and credited with beginning the "golden age" of musical theatre. Each an accomplished artist in their own right, their combined vision produced innovation that forever changed the musical theatre form and inspired a new generation of composers. So in their honor, Penfold is showcasing the Rodgers & Hammerstein songbook for a truly enchanted evening.

The festivities are nestled in the elegant environs of the Kindred Oaks Estate, a beautiful hill country get-away, and topped with a mouthwatering meal by Chef Vikki Bowen. Guests may also float amid colorful items up for silent auction; have their picture taken in the "photo pavilion"; or toss rings to win their favorite bottle of wine. Food and drinks from the bar are included in the ticket price.

Long-time followers of the company may thrill to see performers from Penfold productions past, including Ryan Crowder, Stephanie Delk, Robert Faires, Nathan Jerkins, Tyler Jones, Julie Linnard, Paige McGhee, Michael McKelvey, Julia Olson, Megan Rabuse, Megan Sherrod and Elizabeth Shipsey. Also, for those itching to be in the know, the evening will include the unveiling of Penfold's 2017-18 Season.

Officially, the evening is a fundraiser to support Penfold's ongoing efforts to bring professional theatre performances and education programs to north Travis and Williamson counties. Since the organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, should guests elect to make a donation, they can count on a handy tax deduction, in addition to the warm fuzzy feeling of having helped a worthy cause.

Tickets are on sale through May 2nd at www.penfoldtheatre.org.
