So Percussion Performs a Free Concert Aboard MetroRail Today, 11/1

New York City?s cutting edge percussion quartet, S? Percussion, will give a unique performance aboard a Capital Metro Red Line train today, November 1 at 3:44 p.m., beginning at the Downtown Station (401 E. 4th Street). The quartet will be in Austin attending the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC). S? Percussion and Capital Metro will present this unconventional concert experience, which is the first event developed by Texas Performing Arts? Classical Music Task Force.

The on-board performance will begin at the Downtown Station and continue until the Red Line arrives at the Crestview Station. The event will move to the Blackstar Coop Brewery, located at 7020 East Wind Dr. #100 near the station; before heading
back to the Downtown Station at 5:55 p.m.

“We feel this type of pop-up concert will surprise and delight the ever-growing numbers of passengers we see on our trains,” said Dan Dawson, vice president of marketing and communications for Capital Metro. “People love all forms of artistic
expression, and it?s great when it can be included on our trains, vehicles, stations or stops. It all adds up to create a great customer experience for riders of public transit.”

S? Percussion is renowned for their collaborations with a wide range of artists, as well as their use of unusual and exotic instruments. The group has performed in Austin several times, most recently at Texas Performing Arts at the University of
