Serenbe Playhouse's PETER PAN Begins May 31

Serenbe Playhouse, recipient of the prestigious American Theatre Wing grant, and named one of the Top 20 theatres in the nation by Playbill, is pleased to present PETER PAN: A World Premiere MUSICAL Pirate Adventure. ABOUT PETER PAN: A World Premiere MUSICAL Pirate Adventure

Get ready to sail to the second star to the right and straight on 'til morning and go on a magical musical adventure with the boy who refuses to grow up, Peter Pan! Serenbe Playhouse is once again raising the bar with a world premiere musical for the entire family! After defeating Captain Hook and taking over his ship, we join Peter deep in the forests of Neverland where he lives it up with his band of Lost Boys. However, it seems like the party might be coming to an end as the Lost Boys yearn for home. And with the return of Peter's nemesis, Hook, seeking revenge, Peter is faced with his greatest battle yet. Sit along the banks of the creek and fly with us to Neverland!

"I am so thrilled to bring Peter Pan to life with UK songwriter Ella Grace and playwright Roger Q. Mason at Serenbe Playhouse, a theatrical Neverland," says director Michael Alvarez. "This new adventure of Peter Pan reminds audiences to listen to others, not just ourselves; to celebrate our unique individuality; and about the importance of family."

"What impressed me about Serene Playhouse was the grandness of the company's production scope and it's determination of spirit. This is a company that dreams up big worlds, then picks up a hammer and builds them into reality," says playwright Roger Q. Mason.

"The premise sounded truly magical - a musical, performed in a forest...aboard a boat," say composer Ella Grace. "With Peter Pan being such a well-known and loved story, it's been really fun creating our own version of what happens this time around in Neverland."

ABOUT THE CAST & CREATIVE

Neverland will be filled with a cast of 6 artists breathing life into 10 iconic characters. Aaron Schilling will never grow up as Peter Pan with the feisty Alexandria Joy at his side as Tinker Bell. Jeremy Gee will dawn a hook as the ever-famous Captain Hook with the always goofy Cullen Gray at his side as Smee. Rounding out the cast are Destiney Freeman and Karley Rene as faithful lost boys & singing pirates!

To bring this musical world to life like never before, director Michael Alvarez - 2017 Drama League Directing Fellow - comes to Serenbe fore for the first time. Alvarez brings on Los Angeles playwright Roger Q. Mason & international musician Ella Grace to pen the original music and lyrics. Joining this trio is long time Playhouse collaborator choreographer Bubba Carr. The rest of the team includes: Ed Thrower (Music Director), Monty Davis (Fight Choreographer), Scott Sargent (Scenic Design), Alan Yeong (Costume Design), Joel Coady (Sound Design), and Jillian Haughey (Properties Design).
