Kenny Leon and True Colors Theatre Company Announces Season Opener PROOF by David Auburn
Artistic Director Kenny Leon and True Colors Theatre Company are proud to announce the 2016-2017 "Season of Power, Hope & Love" opening production of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning drama, Proof by David Auburn, directed by Tess Malis Kincaid. As the topic of mental illness grows in our country, Proof creates awareness and asks us to consider what genius looks like and what insanity is. In 2005, Proof was made into a major film starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Jake Gyllenhaal and Anthony Hopkins. The play is running October 25 - November 20, 2016 at Fulton County's Southwest Arts Center's Performance Theater.
The line between genius and insanity can be razor thin; at least that's Catherine's fear. An untrained prodigy, she's inherited her mathematician father's brilliance and tries to come to grips with her other possible inheritance: his madness. Now, with her emotional safe haven gone, Catherine is forced to come face to face with her own brilliant abilities, and in the process, makes a stunning confession that could quite literally turn the world upside down.
Proof will be in preview performances October 25 - 27, 2016 at 8 PM. Opening night is October 28, 2016 and the show is running through November 20, 2016. Performances during the run are Wednesday - Saturday @ 8 PM and Saturday and Sunday @ 2:30 PM. All performances will be presented at Fulton County's Southwest Arts Center's Performance Theater at 915 New Hope Rd, Atlanta, GA 30331.
