Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra (ASYO) Music Director Jere Flint will lead the ASYO in its Crescendo Concert on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center. This performance was previously scheduled for Sunday, March 23, 2014, at 3:00 p.m.

Mr. Flint will lead the Youth Orchestra in Sibelius's Finlandia, excerpts from Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5, and four dance episodes from Copland's Rodeo.

The program will also feature harpist Tinsley Stokes and clarinetist Barrett Ham - two of the three winners of the Youth Orchestra's annual Concerto Competition. Miss Stokes, a senior at North Atlanta High School, has been a member of the ASYO since 2010 and will perform Ravel's Introduction and Allegro for Harp and Orchestra. Mr. Ham, a junior home-schooled student who is in his third season with the Youth Orchestra, will perform the third movement of Weber's Clarinet Concerto No. 2

Established in 1974, the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra provides Atlanta's most talented and dedicated students an outlet to perform masterworks. Each year, more than 300 instrumentalists ages 13-18 audition for one of 120 seats in the orchestra. The ASYO presents three concerts each year in addition to the Atlanta Symphony Kid's Christmas concerts. Members also receive exclusive invitations to participate in readings and master classes with the top artists in the instrumental music industry.

Single tickets for this performance are $10. More details are available at aso.org.
