In THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND, five individuals find themselves careening through the world of love, babies and coffee. From Cabaret to Chicago, the nonstop hit-parade from the prolific songbook of Kander & Ebb, features unforgettable gems, including "Mr. Cellophane," "Maybe This Time," "Cabaret" and "New York, New York," seamlessly interwoven into a passionate, harmonious, up-tempo evening of musical theatre.
The outstanding artistic and production team for Atlanta Lyric's production of THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND features direction and choreography by Ricardo Aponte, and music direction by S. Renee Clark. Lee Shiver-Cerone returns with a sleek scenic design complemented with lighting design by Bradley Bergeron. Sound, Costume and Wig Design will be created by John McKenzie, Amanda Edgerton West and George Deavours, respectively.
McKerley, a Suzi Award winning actor, director, and choreographer, has long been a favorite of Atlanta Lyric audiences, astounding them with star turns in Catch Me if You Can, Damn Yankees, Spamalot and most recently as Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast.
Adrianna Trachell returns to the Lyric Stage after appearing as Mary Magdalene in the landmark production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Among many notable credits, Adrianna was part of the original Broadway cast of Bring it On: the Musical as well as the first National Tour.
Brad Raymond returns to the Lyric after gracing a multitude of Atlanta stages, as well as movie screens in JOYFUL NOISE. Brad was most recently scene as Fetch in Fetch, Clay Make Man and his Suzi Award Winning performance as Blue in Chasin' Dem Blues.
Deb Bowman is no stranger to crooning the songs of Kander & Ebb after playing Velma in Chicago at the Lyric in 2014 and appearing in Cabaret at Serenbe Playhouse this past summer. She won the 2015 Best Regional Actress Award by "Broadway World" for her role as Blanche Dubois in Streetcar Named Desire at Serenbe Playhouse.
The Lyric's own Artistic Director and finest leading lady, Mary Nye Bennett returns to the Lyric Stage after such memorable roles as the Lady of the Lake in Spamalot, Paulette in Legally Blonde, Janis Joplin in Beehive, and Elizabeth Benning inYoung Frankenstein.
The cast also includes an exciting dance ensemble including Chloe Cordle, Cansler McGhee, Brian Jordan & Grace Joo.
THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND, is the second show in the Lyric's 38th Season and is followed by DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, ALWAYS, PATSY CLINE and closing with the family favorite, TARZAN, the MUSICAL.
