Alison Brannon Wilhoit Stars in LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL at Atlanta Lyric Theatre, 8/10-26

Atlanta Lyric Theatre's production of Legally Blonde the Musical, starring Alison Brannon Wilhoit, plays The Cobb Civic Center, August 10 -26, 2012. This award-winning Broadway musical sensation is based on the hit movie starring Reese Witherspoon.

Legally Blonde the Musical follows college sweetheart and homecoming queen Elle Woods, Played by Wilhoit, as she puts down the credit card, hits the books, and heads for Harvard Law School in pursuit of her boyfriend Warner Huntington III, played by Matthew Ragas, who just dumped her for someone more serious. There, she encounters Professor Callahan, played by award-winning Atlanta actor Alan Kilpatrick, and proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style. Legally Blonde the Musical will take you from the social whirl of California campus life to Harvard's halls of justice with our heroine Elle, her Chihuahua, Bruiser, and the bulldog-toting hairdresser Paulette, played by local favorite Mary Nye Bennett.

Legally Blonde the Musical was nominated for seven Tony Awards in 2007 and won the Olivier Award for Best Musical in London.

The all-star Lyric cast features Matthew Ragas reprising the role of Warner Huntington III after appearing in the cast of the national tour of Legally Blonde. The show also stars Corey James Wright (Emmett Foster), Jamie Wood Katz (Brooke Wyndham), Kylie Brown (Vivienne Kensignton), Jordan Craig (Kyle, the UPS delivery guy), Marissa Druzbanski (Enid), and Findley Hansard, Elizabeth Wexler, and Krystle Simmons as Delta Nu sorority sisters Serena, Margot, and Pilar.

Others in the cast include Dustin Lewis, Becca Potter, Chris Lewis, Joseph Brewer, Helen Varner, MerEdith Campbell, Courtney Bowers, Priscilla Curtis, Trey Getz, Ryan Brown, Tucker Weinmann, and Ian Baxter.

Legally Blonde the Musical is directed by Lyric Artistic Director Brandt Blocker and choreographed by Karen Hebert. The creative team also includes BJ Brown (Music Director), Kat Conley (Scenic Designer), Lindsey Paris (Costume Designer), Bradley Bergeron (Lighting Designer), Bobby Johnston (Sound Designer), and George Deavours (Wig Designer).
