Actor's Express Announces Season 30 Opening Production, THE CHRISTIANS

Actor's Express will open its 30th Anniversary season with The Christians by Lucas Hnath, September 16 - October 15, 2017.
The New York Times says, "Mr. Hnath [is] one of the brightest new voices of his generation," and the Chicago Tribune calls the play, "...sincere, complex, nuanced..." A provocative excavation of modern faith, The Christians will feature music from a community choir comprised of people from all faiths and backgrounds. A runaway hit of the New York Theatre season, this stunningly original play will have all of Atlanta talking.
Artistic Director Freddie Ashley first encountered this play at the Humana Festival, the nation's preeminent showcase of new plays, and was immediately struck by its intelligence and theatricality. According to Ashley,
"In this divided moment in our history, it's important to understand the ways in which we can make space for other people of conscience to hold beliefs different than our own, and how to assert that same right for our own space. This play is a moving and thoughtful examination of just that and provides a soul-nourishing experience for people of all backgrounds and spiritual journeys."
Performances of The Christians are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Tickets start at $28 and may be purchased online at actors-express.com or by calling 404-607-7469.
