|the claque| has announced the Daiq-Attack, their first ever daiquiri competition, hosted at Huckleberry Bar in Williamsburg tonight, July 28th.

Celebrating delicious, simple ingredients - rum, sugar, and citrus - there's a reason this cocktail's a classic. First, all entrants will put their best cocktail forward for our panel of judges, including Gothamist food writer Nell Casey. The five contestants deemed worthy will compete, stirring up the best Denizen Rum daiquiri for tasting by the thirsty public. Patrons get to taste the delicious daiquiris and vote for their favorite. Aside from the fabulous prizes awarded to the top three daiquiris, first place will land a spot on the well-cultivated cocktail menu at Huckleberry Bar. Proceeds go towards |the claque|, your favorite arts and performance conglomerate. Advance tickets are available at: http://daiq-attack.brownpapertickets.com.

The Daiq-Attack follows |the claque|'s well-established tradition of food and drink competitions, to be closely followed by the 3rd annual Some Like It Cold cold soup competition, Sunday August 25th at Huckleberry Bar.

Interested in proving your cocktail cojones? Contact event coordinator Samantha Sembler at ss@theclaque.org for more information on how to compete.
