ew York City is buzzing about the inventive new take on ballet in "Cocktail Hour" by Ballets with a Twist.  Among the outlets praising the work of the company's choreographer, Marilyn Klaus, are The Wall Street Journal, which profiled the performance in yesterday's Arts & Entertainment section, and PIX11 Morning News, which will feature the dance company on Wednesday, June 13th during the 8:00am hour.  The upcoming show on Thursday, June 14th at 8:00pm has proven to be such a perfect fit for XL Cabaret that a new date has now been added on Thursday, June 21st at 8:00pm.  Each number in Ballets with a Twist's unique showcase is inspired by a well-known cocktail and brings one of the highest art forms to the masses in a fresh and playful way.  The company's irreverent dance suite gives life to a variety of iconic drinks-saluting the elegance of cocktail culture as the Martini, Mai Tai, Gimlet, Mint Julep and an aptly named 'Scotch on the Rachmaninoff' spring off the menu and onto the stage.

With an eclectic background that ranges from vaudeville and show dancing to Isadora Duncan and classical ballet, Marilyn Klaushas presented choreography in the United States and Europe to much critical acclaim. "Cocktail Hour" has seduced audiences and critics alike, with The Huffington Post calling Klaus "a hip ballet romantic" and The New York Times praising her as "witty and fantastic."

The performance will also feature original music by Stephen Gaboury, who has collaborated with Ms. Klaus for over 20 years. Gaboury, whose music has been featured in film and on television, received a Grammy nomination in 2004 for his work with pop/rock legend Cyndi Lauper; other A-listers he has performed with include Patti LaBelleSuzanne Vega and Ute Lemper.  His music.  Catherine Zehr is the creative force behind the unique costume design – evoking the origins and spirit of each libation with a refreshing use of style and color.

With its tremendously familiar appeal, "Cocktail Hour" is sure to provide an intoxicating evening of dance for audiences both new and experienced to the captivating world of ballet.  To purchase tickets, please visit http://www.showclix.com/event/229725.  For more information on Ballets with a Twist, please visit its website (www.balletswithatwist.com) or Facebook page (www.facebook.com/gotoBalletswithaTwist).
