The Westchester Broadway Theatre has announced more details for their Fall Lineup. Schedule is as follows:

THE PRODUCERS

The Tony Award Winning Mel Brooks Musical Hit!

Will be directed by David Edwards who recently starred in the National tour of The Producers (as Max Bialystock & Roger DeBris) WBT audiences will remember him as Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, Don Quixote in Man Of La Mancha and Albin in La Cage Aux Folles.  The Choreorgrapher, Mathew Vargo, also toured with The Producers and has been the dance captain on the Las Vegas "Producers" for the last several years. He also appeared as a dancer/singer in our Miss Saigon.

Adapted by Mel Brooks from his classic 1968 film about a pair of Broadway has-beens who hatch a plan to produce a musical that will be a surefire flop, deliberately sell more than 100% of the show to old lady investors and then abscond to Rio with the extra cash. Their flop is a song-and-dance tribute to the Third Reich which is meant to give offense to all.  They hire the worst actors and director in town and the show is titanically awful, in the worst imaginable taste. Naturally, it’s a smash! This is a grand old-fashioned musical fashioned with a sharp modern attitude.

A WONDERFUL LIFE

Book and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and Music by Joe Raposo.

A terrific musical with a lot of heart and good-natured optimism, based on the classic Frank Capra film starring Jimmy Stewart.  Set in 1945, It tells the story of George Bailey,  an average Joe who spends a lifetime sacrificing his own ambitions for the sake of others and continually setting aside his own dreams in order to keep his late father’s building and loan business afloat.  When a greedy banker manufactures a scandal that threatens to send him to jail, George is crushed and contemplates suicide. A wingless guardian angel, to convince him of his own worth,  reveals to him how different the world, and everyone whose life he has touched, would be had he never been born..
