Due to sell-out limited engagements, the North American tour of Wicked will return for more performances in Denver and Toronto next year. The smash musical will play Toronto's Canon Theatre from October 7th through November 19th, 2006 and Denver's Buell Theatre from May 16th through June 3rd, 2007.

The show, which has filled as many seats on its tour as it has in its other productions on Broadway and in Chicago, will next head to the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in Houston, TX from October 26th through November 13th after wrapping up its current run at the Music Hall at Fair Park in Dallas on October 23rd.

The national tour of Wicked stars Stephanie J. Block (The Boy from Oz) as Elphaba, the compassionate witch whose losing battle with a totalitarian wizard turns her to the darker side. Kendra Kassebaum (Assassins, Rent) plays her popular rival-turned-friend Glinda. The tour's other stars are David Garrison (The Wizard), Derrick Williams (Fiyero), Carol Kane (Madame Morrible), Jenna Leigh Green (Nessarose), Logan Lipton (Boq) and Timothy Britten Parker (Doctor Dillamond).

While Wicked, has been a smash hit at the Gershwin Theatre (222 W. 51st St.) for almost two years, the Chicago production at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts' Oriental Theatre (24 W. Randolph St.) also plays to very full houses; the sit-down show received raves upon opening on July 13th. The Broadway production currently boasts Shoshana Bean and Megan Hilty as Elphaba and Glinda, while Ana Gasteyer and Kate Reinders (who is now out with a broken foot and whose understudy Sarah Jane Everman is going on in her place) play the respective green and pink witches in Chicago. The lavish musical biography of the misunderstood title witch of the West features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, a book by Winnie Holtzman, direction by Joe Mantello and choreography by Wayne Cilento. Wicked is based on Gregory Maguire's novel.
